So, this new pairing was formed as a result of their respective partners retiring from the national team. Not sure what others make of this pairing but in my eyes this pairing really does not work - at all. They are certainly both experienced enough to see off most sub-top ten players but they are not in my view able to contend with the elite and challenge for titles. Neither of them seem to be supporting each other. YYS seems to have gone back to his old ways of just getting drives back, without thinking about where to place it. KGJ is just not a threat at the net, and also seems to be driving everything back over the net rather than setting up YYS. Both of them desperately need a good forecourt partner. I think they should do what China did and pair these senior, more experienced players with their younger new members of the national team to bring them up quickly. KBA are in a bit of a crisis at the moment. Not only have they lost their best doubles player, but also so many other senior players at the same time, with no succession plan initiated must be quite concerning. Let's hope they have some young prodigies up their sleeves, otherwise they might have to begging for the those retired players to come out of retirement. Which may not be such a bad thing, given they are all still relatively young?
