..(aka "The 2nd Time Around in Boleh Land").. *For those foreign BCers who are visiting, please feel free to post your pics & stories.. okay, i'm officially embedded in limsy's & george@chongwei's home turf.. And boy, i didn't know how jet-lagged i was after i realized i overslept for abt 9 hrs. I am now wide awake and surfing the internet & BC with a bunch of teenagers and young folks at an internet cafe near my place of stay (they're all playing games). Hotel's internet is down for the weekend. The rate is quite cheap (RM4 for 2 hrs; abt just more than $1 for over 2 hrs). Arrived y'day & was taken out for a nice & delicious satay kajang lunch with George & his dad. Then met up briefly with limsy....Finally met them but they seemed so shy & quiet and didn't talk to me much yet?!?!..Then was taken for a brief tour of the city...Kajang is a quiet and nice little suburban city.. But danielwong must probably be quite disappointed with me after he came all the way from his place to find i couldn't be contacted......Apology to danielwong.. Took some pics & videos already, but will post them later.. For those who want to contact me in M'sia, here's my HP no.: 012-617-0682

East Coast trip.. ..i'm officially embedded in Merang (in East Coast M'sia, Terengganu region, just north of Kuala Terengganu); hometown of limsy, Pemuda and koo_fan...surfing at a restaurant called "Restoran Desa" which means a "Rural or Village Restaurant"...and just a few thousand meters from the South China Sea..surprisingly met an accommodating Indonesian fella working as one of the asst. managers... For those thinking of going on a trip to East Coast/Terengganu/Kelantan regions, please take a note of this: 1. If going to any of the East Coast islands (Redang & Perhentian), the jetty-off points are different: Merang & Kuala Terengganu = to Pulau Redang (Redang Island) only. The one @ Merang will only leave once a day @ 9:30am. Kuala Besut = to Pulau Perhentian (Perhentian Island) only. There are 3 different schedules. 2. If you want to go to Pulau Perhentian better take a flight to Kota Bahru (Kelantan), not to Kuala Terengganu. It is a shorter drive to Kuala Besut. If you want to go to Pulau Redang, then you can take a flight to Kuala Terengganu. Or take a taxi to Merang from Kuala Besut or Kuala Terengganu. 3. If you want to go to Pulau Perhentian: - If you arrive in Kota Bahru, you can purchase a taxi/ferry ride (combo) ticket from one of the counters. If you happen to go in a group, the person can give you a price of around Rm92. Then you will hop into a taxi. - The taxi ride will be around 1 hr to Kuala Besut (which will be in state of Terengganu, south of Kota Bahru). - The travel agency, in Kuala Besut, which will be referred to you @ the airport will be Golden Tropical Holidays. The person in charge is Mr. Zamri. He & his staffs are very friendly and will give you advice. 4. If you want to go to Pulau Redang: - If you want to go to Pulau Redang, you can only go from Kuala Terengganu port or Merang (which is about 1 hr drive south from Kuala Besut). 5. If you happen to arrive in Kuala Besut and then decide to go to Pulau Redang, Mr. Zamri will call a special taxi to take you to Merang or Kuala Terengganu. 6. You can do a customized trip. Meaning, you don't have to follow a 2 days/3 nights package or 3 days/4 nights package. The travel agency, above, can arrange a 1 night stay if you just want a 1 night stay. 7. If you decide to take Air Asia from KL, please don't put any luggages because they will charge you Rm30 extra. Just put everything as carry-on luggages. 8. If you can, try to reserve a 5 days trip to East Coast. So you can spend 2 night/days on both islands, if you wish to. East Coast is very interesting. It shows the true very rural & natural side of Malaysia with its nearly untouched beauty, *still hot & humid though.. ..as for the rest of the pictures, sorry, they've been very slow to be uploaded. Tried a couple of times to upload some of them and the upload crashed..*sigh* ..tomorrow, off to Pulau Redang for 1 night then to Pulau Perhentian the next day.. *it is so hot & humid still here, with sweats sticking like glue, that i want to go skinny dipping in the South China Sea..
..i've rescheduled my return trip to leave KL early to spend a few hours in S'pore on Monday, the 17th. I hope you'll have some time to meet up..
Any picture please, chris???? I am sure you've taken lots of photos by now. Anything interesting to see will do. Thanks.
Pics failing to upload.. ..i think i've tried like 15 times to upload the pics and every single time it ended in a "Failed to upload" message... Maybe i will be able to upload the pics from one of the islands... Imagine: - Going from trying to upload the pics in KL, - To now trying to upload the pics in East Coast region and - Then trying to upload the pics from the island..... ..there are many interesting things to do and see..The restaurant i'm currently surfing at is open 24 hrs and there are people still eating @ 3am in the morning...so, there's always food available to eat...And they're super duper cheap: can get a full plate of Nasi Ayam Rojak (Chicken Rice w/mixed veggie) for RM3.50 ($1 and change)...or Nasi Kukus Ayam Goreng Berempah (Chicken Fried Chicken cooked w/spices) for Rm4.50 ($1.50)..
ctjcad, sound like u guys having a lot of fun wor.... look fwd 2 pictures.. cooler, yeah, nasi goreng with pork very good ya hoh jiak...
- maybe the pics are too large for the server to handle. But i've uploaded similar sizes in other places w/out any problem. If i resize them smaller, the pictures will become more pixalated.. - Yes, i've tried that fried rice w/pork in L.A. (U.S.). Here they have Nasi Minyak & Nasi Kerabu (more halal lah)..
..hmm, not sure what exactly is down because i can still surf the internet now..just the speed is super slow, slower than a snail's pace...but it was down @ the hotel where i stayed this past weekend.. Anyway, here are a couple to start off...let's see if they'll upload. This is the reward for limsy for being a tour guide and a leng lui watcher..
