Currently, Hafiz Hashim (WR #32) is ranked below 4 MAS players

    .
    Don't think so ... Currently, Hafiz Hashim (WR #32) is ranked below 4 MAS players, namely;
    1. Lee Chong Wei (WR #1)
    2. Wong Choong Hann (WR #13)
    3. Lee Tsuen Seng (WR #21)
    4. Sairul Ayob (WR #26)

Perhaps HH will need to go independent to make his comeback.

If three month of hard training can bring taufik back to the level with the big boys, I like to see what our "most skillful" player can do.

Quarterfinal anyone? Shouldn't be such a tough aim given the level of participant.

HH said his form has recovered to 80% of his peak, so he might be able to pass the test in QF, where he is expected to play Chetan anand of India before facing LCW in SF......

    A'ha. Really.

And Badminton will be much more fun. The benefits will go back to the fans.
    Isn't that great?

I think 80% is the max that Hafiz can reach, now that he's hitting 27. A man who is still finding his magic touch will not have enough time to develop his game further with time running out.

:(..time running out, 80% of HH is just not enough for him to beat players like SS, HYHsin, PSH,ASrihar,.... and Chn juniors.....:crying::crying:

Where did you get this info? Even if he manage to get physically in shape, I'm afraid he might be left behind in experience (despite his age). One look in his battle against Chen Jin in the Thomas cup prove that he couldn't adapt to Chen Jin's trick shot which top player like LCW and Peter have no problem with.

Yeah I remember quite a few of these warnings have been given to these players. But even when they don't achieve the target they're set... nothing happens anyway!

    Don't think so.
They were about to exclude KBH and HH from the national team if they are unable to perform.

    That's their words before.

What does that tell you about Malaysians ? Malaysians are forgiving people.:D But not so forgiving if LCW loses - then people like Pemuda will say all sorts of nasties.

I don't have anything against HH or KBH of course. Actually KBH has done alright at a few tournaments here and there. And Hafiz is just kind of up and down all over the place... He's like Taufik x 2 - never know what to expect... although unexpected upsets have become kind of expected I think in his case :(. But I think if they should make good on their promises or else no one will take them seriously (BAM).

    Malaysians are great though :D.

HH & KBH might not achieve much lately but they are still better than Msia Juniors.. might as well kept them as sparring partner for the junior... :D

Got, things happen, some points are sensitive issue (disccused before also) ;). If you've noticed, K Yogendran & Yeoh Kay Bin are not with BAM anymore.
With current economic situation, dont be too sure abt them not being dropped, some BJSS, back-up players have already been dropped end of 2008.

Malaysian Juniors are still at a lower standard/level compared to HH and KBH

    .
SibugiChai ... Yes, I am from Malaysia. :):):)

And yes, Malaysians are famous for their "never-mind-la" attitude. :p:p:p

If you read the thread 'BAM warns Mohd Hafiz Hashim & Kuan Beng Hong' (click here), you will notice that I am still supporting HH and KBH to stay. This is because our Malaysian Juniors are still at a lower standard/level (compared to HH and KBH).

But regarding to selecting players to participate at international tournaments, MAS Juniors should be sent out more often. Otherwise, they will never be able to gain BWF ranking points. And they won't be able to be qualified for higher level BWF tournaments.
