realistically i hoped lyd won but ko n yo had years of partnership tgt b4 the split, then won Silver in the 2011 worlds so looking at it , KO/YOO had an upperhand, koreans are famous for defense and the few hard smashers as a pair?! don think Nit can handle it

Also, looking at their results, Nitpitphon is really noticeably weaker than the other 3 players. They all had measurable success with or without LYD, above what NP achieved so far. Intriguing matchup though, will watch some of that when I have some time :)

The trouble is, in the UK, Sport = Football. Well, the media seems to think so. Which is why hardly anyone can name a UK badminton pro let alone a top international player.

Yes, but in a way I feel for Nitpitphon given that he KNOWs he is the weakest on court as all the others were former world no.1 players. So the result was inevitable but they didn't do too badly. Nitpitphon seemed quite nervous/edgy and seemed not to be moving very well. Perhaps his style of play doesn't align well with the unrelentingly fast pace of the Korean players.

Following on from what someone said earlier, yes it would be great to see LYD play as an independent player, but he isn't an easy person to find a decent partner for nor are there many players to choose from. He needs a partner that allows him to play his own game, to allow him to play to his strengths. Someone who has a very good smash, is fast around the court, strong defense and flat play, calm and is consistent. Oh, and must be available as an indy player...

he is the type of player that must finish within 2 sets, Any longer he might tilt , drop in stamina drop in morale which is a advantage for the opponent to overturn the game

I think he really just cant smash anymore in a tough 3-setter. He tries, but cant get through as he lacks that last bit of body tension and explosiveness....other than FHF who can just keep going until the other 3 drop, it feels like :D

He's also a very different player, physically and technically. Probably large part of his muscles are fast-twitch, which may lead to poor endurance, and he has a pretty different smash compared to FHF (less arm, more upper body rotation, more explosive overall movement)....and yeah, I also think FHF has the more disciplined training regiment :D

We can only dream of seeing LYD partner FHF!

The thought did kinda cross my mind when Kolding broke the world record for the fastest smash the other day. I was thinking "if only FHF was playing in the PBL this year!"

dont tink so , but certainly PBL need foreign players as they do not have enough locals to play a league.

Nah. TBH has more upper body rotation and pronation, and uses stiffer rackets for a shorter, more explosive swing whereas FHF is the more physical, slower-moving smasher of the two. More reliant on strength than TBH actually, I'd say, but more consistent.
Look at TBH's stature, how strong can he be - especially to 'big arm' Fu :D
