He always seems to lose intensity towards the mid of every second game... weird. Not even top 4. What a disaster.
With more days of rest and being healthy, let's wish him well for the Japan Open. In the bottom half, his strongest opponents are AA and Lakshya Sen. I think he has an easier path to the finals.
maybe Japan is not his good luck place to win any matches... Tokyo Olympic - lost in Round 16 Tokyo WC - lost in Round 16 Japan Open - lost in Round 32
Not to mention LJZ changed rackets before Tokyo, on both occasion. OG 2020 (Victor > Yonex) and WC2022 (Ryuga > Ryuga 2).
"He also needs better sparring partners. The sparring quality is definitely lacking at the moment. "He probably did not feel the effect too much in the first few months after leaving the national team as he was still in good shape, but the same cannot be said now. Thoughts?
Better sparring partner yes, however it is just one part of the equation. I think his team is ok but there can be a better support system. Now is just a bad spell and "luck" as well. I believe he is doing fine and probably certain pressure because his buddy just got a gold medal and not him. Just saying. He will be back no doubt.
whatever it is .. i think its mostly in his head.. you can see his body language during the SK match yesterday... he looks like somebody looking to lose...
time to let go the arrogant and LC, it's time to do the right thing, like carrying the burdens to the top, just like what LCW did...
That's why always need to be careful when throwing statement. CWG - Skip for WC. WC - Lose in R16. JO - Lose in R32. Now pressure increase by multiple times.
It seems that LZJ also somewhat agrees with my opinion regarding the racket. Ryuga 2 is just not suited to his strong-style play.
This show us that: There is no special racket for players. (pro players also play commercial rackets) There is no paintjob. Pro players also need a suitable racket that fit to their hand.
