    Hi there!

So I've played with the BGAB at 23x25 and it snapped yesterday. I'm currently taking a break due to exams. I'm curious to try new strings since I haven't tried the BGAS and Lining No. 1. Previous to the BGAB I've always been a BG66UM user but since I've read that Lining No 1 is better in terms of Durability and Tension Hold, Im leaning more on that.

    Advantages BGAB
    - Great control

    Disadvantages BGAB
    - Less Durable but Im fine with it
    - Isnt as repulsive as BG66UM

Note: All of this is in my personal opinion. I love repulsion strings but I loved the control on the front court with the BGAB.

I would like to try the BGAS very much but in terms of control how is it?

Which one did snap? the Red or White? how did you like it?

I've played quite a bit with Aerosonic and No. 1 (at 12*13 kg) and have reels of both.

    AS:
great overall control, but you need some time to adjust to it
better tension hold than No. 1
    incredibly repulsive
Doesnt break as quickly as many people make it sound.

    No. 1:
has a big initial tension drop. after that it stays pretty constant
you will get a lot of play out of it, it dies very late (compared to ultimax)
should be more durable than AS, but i cut my strings before they break.

Both strings have very little texture so it makes slicing harder. Thats where AB should help.

@Rob3rt can certainly add things and correct me when im wrong.

Sounds about right. I‘m really getting better at control with AS. It seems like I can‘t go back to No. 1. :(

    Time to order a reel...

I actually thought about it. Never tried it, though.

I dont see what this would achieve, maybe you can explain. only thing AS is missing really is texture. No. 1 doesnt help me with that...
I play a BG 80/AS hybrid for singles. Like expected slices are working much better at the cost of less repulsion.

The Red Mains snapped. No surprise there, they were frayed quite badly. I liked the control of it but I missed the feeling of a freshly strung BG66UM which I hope to find in a BGAS. Maybe I'll string BGAS next and Lining No 1 thereafter.

I have played with both #1 and Aerosonic @ 25lbs, both strung by same stringer. For me, Aerosonic is better than #1 in terms of repulsion, control and tension holding.

keeping my eyes on this thread as I am also curious with the No.1
Been using and keep changing BG66UM, BG66F and BG80P quite a while and l recently tried BGAS for my NR900 and love it very much.
Lower the tension of BGAS to 28Lbs to get it more durable but I seem find it as a very good deal.
Control and repulsion are excellent, dont really have issue with power, and with the bonus of hitting sound :)

AS is one of the god tier strings if you are fine with the cost of it. I can't in the right mind put No.1 or AB anywhere close to AS after seeing what it's like at not very sane tensions.

And the sound at 32....whew. I don't like aerobite (sp versions that I used) much and would rather just have AS alone. 66um was certainly a lot more powerful and repulsive than AB as well and is also one of my favourites (despite the usual dislike towards it on the forum).

    (personal preference) Aerosonic > 66UM > No.1 > Aerobite

Call me superficial, but why is AS apparently only available in white? That is so lame. I want yellow at least!

Thanks for the insight on the No.1.. sometimes curiousity is always exist until you find and test yourself, hehehe
Anyway, never imagine AS in 32 lbs.. was it last long?

Every racket looks better with yellow strings. JS10, Inferno, N9II, JS12, N99 - all perfect in yellow.

You should pre-string the No1. When I use a string that is very flexible like the No1 I always apply the full weight then relaese the string and apply the weight again. The No1 gains several cm under 32lbs after the first time under weight. If you do not pre-string, these extra cm will cause a tremendous loss of tension within 1-2 days. It is similar for No3 and No5. The No7 on the other hand is different.
