If it does happen... As much of a Chen Jin fan as I am, I actually would like to see Kenneth wins another title... this is quite a good yet rare chance for him, and these chances don't come very often.

actually, KJ had a good chance beating LD last year but a bad call on the second set threw KJ's back momentum. First time i saw KJ yelled aloud on a call. KJ won the 1st set too.

Arguably LD hadn't gone up to full speed at that time... It's really hard to imagine KJ beating LD. LD is simply too fast for KJ.

By the way, I was right in saying TH will play till the end even if LD is beating the hell out of him. Haha. :D

Anyway, there's no sign of foul play so far in Hong Kong Open, is quite common players play half-heartedly when the same nation face one another, don't blame them as other participants who have chance to change the course failed to do so, for example Soni lost tamely to Chen Jin and Taufik lost to Lin Dan hence cause the possible walk on next round when Lin Dan face Chen Jin depending on the outcome of Jonassen vs Chong Wei. Imagine if these two players go to distance and the Chinese chose to walk, can you blame the Chinese?
Zhou Mi also got the "gift" from Wong Chen but Hirose send Zhou packing is the best solution to avoid this kind of occurrence.
Still, I will stick to my BF and Boleh together with my fellow Malaysian tonight, Chong Wei Jar You!!!

    No pun intended...but..

..all of these whispers about a possible WO in the LD vs. CJ Semi Finals match made me think of a well-known phrase...Maybe CHN really can "Walk the talk"...hmm..:rolleyes:;)

Why are you so defensive. Of course I predicted the result. Here:

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50234

Posts #10 and #14. Although I have to admit that I had thought TH has improved since French Open, while it seems indeed he has not. Also overall my predictions sucked this time.

I realized I made a mistake. When I replied your post, I thought you were the one I replied to in the above posts (in fact it's bananakid :D). I apologize.

However, my prediction is more accurate in that: 1. there is no dubious calls. 2. few ppl are making excuses for TH. 3. LD indeed beated the hell out of TH. :D

As for KJ, I watched the HKO 06 video quite a few times, never thought he can really beat LD even if there is no bad call. He is too old to do that. And I would not argue with you what happened when LD lost to TH. :D

I wish Taufik would stop embarrassing himself... :)
Funnily enough, those who think he can't be beaten continue to ooze empty optimism

Withdrawing from the China Open doesn't seem to have given him enough energy to beat LD :p

I like the chicken soup metaphor.:D

To suggest that KJ can win is dreaming as he lost easily to LCW in the last two tournaments they met. Despite KJ beating the Hashims, he is not the same level as LCW. Sorry, I vote for Oldhand's Chicken soup theory.:)

I still have a lot of respect for Kenneth, his stamina is maintained, better than Gade, WCH, Roslin, all of whom are younger. Stamina wise, he can still match up to the younger brigade. He is like Poul Erik Hoyer-Larsen and Morten Frost, good up to the last mile.

The only thing that probably stops him from getting the edge over players like LD, LCW and CJ is pace .......

speculate away.......i am worried that LCW will not make it. first, he had to play all the way to finals in CO2007 and thus he might be a little lethargic by now. second, his injury seems to be worst than when he was in China (my deduction was simply done by looking at the amount of bandage he has on his knees and thighs areas, inconclusive i know but it's the only clue i have; plus we are only speculating here :D). third, kenneth can be stubborn and there's no guarantee he will be beaten by LCW. on a good day i think KJ can beat top players. :) fourth, lin dan is surely well rested and have an advantage to reach the finals. so...........

what my heart wants : LCW vs LD in finals and LCW wins

what my head tells me could happen : KJ beat LCW and meet LD in finals where LD will proceed to show what made him no 1 in the world.

oh how i wish for taufik to be in the finals :D but any match between taufik, LCW and LD is always entertaining. :)

Doesn't look good for LCW, seems that his injury is pretty bad, maybe not enough to stop him playing, but enough to stop him from winning the title ..... :crying: Reports from Badzine mentioned of him limping and he mentioned it at the RTM interview.
