I guess the players who can manage top-8 SS Ranking of all 5 disciplines will participate since SS Finals provide huge ranking point (same with SS Premier), they will take chance to collect point as much as possible prior to Olympic deadline.

With this tournament held in China, including Hong Kong Open, 4 SS and SSP tier tournaments will be in China this year. Good news for the China team.

Except that no more than two entries from each BA can participate in each discipline.

How can I buy tickets to watch this tournament? Would the tickets be sold online or do you have to buy one at the venue itself. Thanks!

Me also want to get ticket but worried that LD or his team mates will concede a walkover and I will be wasting my hard earned money.

If there's a maximum of 2 players from each country that can qualify, here's the possible qualifiers for Team INA:
MS - Taufik Hidayat and Simon Santoso
    WS - none
MD - Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan and Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan
    WD - Vita Marissa/Nadya Melati
XD - Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir and Mohd Rijal/Debby Susanto (surprise surprise!)

I think you'll find that with the HK and China Open results figured in, Vita/Nadya and Rijal/Susanto have already been eliminated. Kido and Setiawan are out, too. They only had a chance if Ko/Yoo or Chai/Guo had lost early in China and they themselves had at least made the final.

    Post-HKO updates are available here.

My mistake. Kido and Setiawan can still make the SSF if they reach the final in Shanghai. The current #8 is Ahsan/Septano, however.

Unless there is withdrawal, here is the list of players that will qualify :

MS : LCW, CL, LD, PG, Tago, TH, Sho Sasaki and Simon (he will overtake 2 players above him even if he lost in QF today)

WS : Wang Xin, Wang YH, Julianne, Tine, Saina, Sato Sayaka, Sung and Bae

MD : LYD/JJS and CY/FHF(confirmed). Another 5 will be Koo/Tan, Boe/Mogensen, Ko/Yoo, CB/GZD, Hashimoto/Hirata. Last will be either Kidho/Hendra or Ahsan/Bona depending how well Kindra doing this week.

    WD : WXL/YY, QT/ZYL, Fujii/Kakiwa, Ha/Kim, Matsuo/Naito, Cheng/Chien, Pedersen/Juhl. Last one for Jwala/Gutta or Poon/Tse depeding on the Indian progress.

    XD : ZN/ZYL, Joachim/Pedersen, CX/MJ, Chen Hung Ling/Cheng Wen Hsing, Butet/Towi, Sudket/Saralee, Blair/White, Ikeda/Shiota.

MD and XD will have all top 8 position while the other 3 have some who in top 8 but can't qualify due to the 2 per country rule.

However, I think XD does not really represent real top 8 pairs at the moment too, not even top 10.

Only MD is at least all are true top 10 pairs.

Agree. And also because the SSF were held outside China.
