I guess the reason starts with the letter S? Hehehe Keep posting ok yannie? I'll post some more if I find them..
They are excellent players. No doubt about it, but they are not dominant like Ricky/Rexy or Candra/Sigit do. They are more of the Flandi/Eng Hian type. Strong, but not dominant. I don't really know how to put it, but they do not have the "thing" that shakes the opponent. I remember Sang Yang/Zheng Bo once said that they felt the pressure of a champion when they met Candra/Sigit. This is what Luluk/Alven lacking. To be honest, I have not seen other pairs since Candra/Sigit and Candra/Tony own that "charisma". But again, Luluk/Alven is without doubt a very good pair.
Alven/Luluk are double men Indonesia player which are a hope Indonesia people, but I think that their performance and skill not yet show the best WHY????????? I hope that they can take their ranking in the world as when they be number two in the world at 2004 years. Don't fell failure but do the best They must do the best in Thomas Cup!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, they were #1 in the world at the beginning of last year. That was their ranking when they played the Korean Open in January 2005. They were also defending champions at that event but I watched them get humiliated by the young Korean pairing, Lee and Jung. That kind of inconsistency has plagued them over the years but yes, they are definitely skilled.
oops... i didn't notice that i put flandy's pic in the alven/luluk thread... duh anyway... more pics here...
Well .. something that i noticed longtime ago .. is that Luluk rarely smile when he takes a pix .. =/ Somebody knows if he's nice with his fans ?!
yah, i've had a first hand experience meeting and hanging out with Luluk during last yr's WC...he's a very reserved individual, very quiet, unlike Alven who is more "outgoing"..in a way, from what i saw, coach Christian tend to "care" more abt Luluk than Alven...but Luluk overall is personable..
