No offense sweety, but I think shouting slogans is of no use.
Personally I don't like the "Malaysia Boleh" slogan.

    Think about it.
We have not achieved much to be proud of, but we are already shouting "Malaysia Can"? Yes we can become runners up 8 out of 10 times.

Contemporary China badminton has 5 times the achievement of Malaysia badminton, but what is their slogan? "China Jia You" which means "China strive harder".

You know, it is so ironic.

Keep this up and eventually all we will ever be able to do in the future is shouting slogans, without any real achievements.

The champion is the one who brings home the gold medal, not the ones making noise singing "we are the champions".

No offence intended from me too, sweety.

I've heard the likes of your exhuberence and optimism many many times before, and all we got in the end were bi-annual heartaches. I don't think that scenario is going to change very much in 2008,

Unless of course something very drastic and very different from the current is put into place.

    That's my 5 sens worth...

    May I add sweety?

TC 2008 is not too far off, and China seems to be already well-prepared for it now!

    No offence

but a blind confidence is called arrogance. MAS is being too confident to a point which they ignore their own weakness. That can bring MAS deadly consequences (which happened during the match with DEN)

ok LYB might be a big mouth, but as long as he got what he was bragging about (TC, UC, and a Elite team which whitewashed everybody), then nobody can say anything about it.

What MAS team should do is to learn from their mistakes, not just listen to those meaningless cheers.

I was pretty much stunned/Shocked/blown away/ by the performance of CHN's MD, after watched their final match vs DEN pair. for about a year ago, CHN MD is still their weakes point, and for many (DEN INA MAS) CHN MD is pretty much a gift point.

This is what improvement should look like, which many of the MAS players failed to do. If CHN players keep improving like this, i can pretty much predict the winner of the 2008 UC/TC.

Oh, is that what does JIA YOU means? Strive harder?

well, it is really ironic, i admit. :(

If we want to be the best, then act like one.

in chinese we have "jia you"
but we dun have a similar word in malay right? cant think of any..
so what can we shout otehr than that..
hmm.. basically i shout "jia you" to chinese players and to malay players's i shout their name

Yeah i think its better to do that. Malaysia Boleh sounds a bit silly. Bcoz we rarely boleh.

    And we can also go:
    1. "Go Chong Wei!"
    2. "Come on, Choong Han!"
    3. "Caya lah Tan Fook!"
    4. "Pump it up, Malaysia!"
    5. "You can do it, Hafiz!
May be we can start a contest for Malaysia's new slogan to replace Malaysia Boleh. It's obviously not working..

Shouting "Chong Wei" is appropriate, shouting "Go Chong Wei" is inappropriate because its like telling chong wei to go home.

    Sweety :)

Don't listen to the negative remarks by others. You should be proud of your team and please don't stop your words of encouragement. You'll be surprised how effective your encouragement means to the Malaysian Team.
Your encouragement will one day turn to success for them.

    I totally agreed with you.

Ever since Malaysia come out with this stupid slogan "Malaysia Boleh", how many major tournament they won?

Is really stupid as they just know how to shout "Malaysia Boleh" instead of improve on the weakness.

Very sad to Malaysia players (Men Singles).
