Top seed Lee Chong Wei is expected to meet Taufik Hidayat in the quarter-finals.
yeah, e.g the french open 2007, he plays relax and not much pressure on him.LCW has had a good run of form over the last 3 tournaments, but i think us malaysians always have a phobia of our players underachieving when our expectations are high.
having said that, i do hope that the home crowd don't put too much undue pressure on LCW, he plays much better when the pressure is off.
Seems that you all forgot about XXF
Round 1: Cheng Shao-Chieh
Round 2: Jae Youn Jun/Eriko Hirose
QF: Wong Mew Choo
SF: Zhu Lin/Yip Pui Yin/Zhou Mi/Wang Chen
(if XXF can beat the above mentioned players of course),
Finals: Tine Rasmussen/Xu Huaiwen/Lu Lan/Yao Jie/Pi Hongyan/Zhang Ning
So who said that LCW's draws were difficult?![]()
WHAT A DRAW FOR BOONSAK ..HOW LUCKY HE IS ...
FIRST ROUND VS SIMON
NEXT IS TAUFIK
AND THEN LCW ... !!!!!!!!!![]()

Sigh...Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi ALWAYS get the unlucky draw, this time facing the top-seed Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon HeongThe third-seed Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun is also in the top half.
On the other hand, Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki and the other Djarum players are included in the draw, although we didn't see their names in the M/Q report
Rian/Yoke will face Howard Bach/Bob Malaythong Khan in a winnable tie, before facing the second-seed Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in R16. Kido/Hendra face a qualifier in their first match. Possible opponents include Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen [6] in the QF and Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [4] or Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [8] in the SF.
Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto also face a tough first match in Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif in R32 and then possibly another encounter with Tony/Candra in R16 if they can clear the first round. Tony/Candra has a tricky match against the improved Chinese Taipei pair of Fang Chieh-Min/Lee Sheng-Mu.
In the MD qualifier, Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan are drawn against Chan Chong Ming/Chew Choon Eng in the second round and either Robert Blair/David Lindley or Chan Peng Soon/Chang Hun Pin for a place in the main draw.
Tough draws for all the INA Men's Singles players.
Taufik Hidayat [6] will meet Park Sung Hwan, while Simon Santoso will face Boonsak Ponsana (again?). The winners of both matches will square off against each otherIf Taufik can clear the first two rounds, then, an anticipated match against the top-seed Lee Chong Wei beckons in the QF.
Sony Dwi Kuncoro [5] will also face a tough tie against Lee Hyun Il in R32. The winner will face either a qualifier or Anup Sridhar in R16. Even if Sony can fulfill his seeding, he's unlikely to beat the third-seed Chen Jin in the QF.
Finally, Andre Kurniawan Tedjono faces a qualifier (likely to be either Kuan Beng Hong, Tommy Sugiarto, Andrew Dabeka or Eric Pang). If he can beat his opponent in the first round, then Chen Yu [8] should await him (again) in R16.
In the qualifying round, Tommy will square off against KBH in the first qualifying round. If he can beat the MAS player, then Andrew Dabeka and possibly Eric Pang will be his hurdles for a place in the main draw. Besides Tommy, Alamsyah Yunus will face Bobby Milroy in the first round and then Lu Yi (again) in the second round. No chance for him to qualify.

It's the player that need to cope with high expectation and pressure, we can't just ask fan not to expect too much especially if our player is the top seed in the tournament. Pressure is part of the game, like it or not! Great players will overcome the pressure else she or he will just be a good players. For Chong Wei to reach his greatness, the need to overcome the pressure barrier with the help of his excellent skills. Malaysia Boleh!
