    It was 3 tremendous days

    I ended today at around 8 o'clock.
On behave of the sponsors, ClearTwo badminton, Tournament committee, draw desk staffs, voluenteers....thank you all participating in this annual event.
Special thanks to all the coaches, parents, players, specators, badminton lovers, your presence is our success!!

The fundraising 50/50 draw was won by one of a tournament participating player. Total jackpot was closed to $700.00. With the kindness and generousity of this person, (we all know who this person is). A one hundred dollar of the winning was donated back to the VC/LFA Badminton team to off set the cost for the team travelling to Prince George in March for the HS Provincial.

There are still couple of daily draw prizes still to be claimed. One of the winner is a 40+ doubles player and his 5 letter first name start with a K and last name is a 3 letter word. One of the "book" winner is an open doubles player which he palyed with his brother in the tournament. (I'm trying to avoid using names in public to avoid identities theft)

Sorry, didn't have time to take any pictures (like last year). Would welcome any BFers post their pictures here!!

All the best in 2008 everyone!

I didn't take pics, but here are links to some vids I shot of the mixed semi finals and the men's finals. Unfortunately, I didn't bring enough tape with me for the men's doubles finals, which was an awesome match IMO.

    Men's finals:
    1st set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dv7FSumz8Ak
    2nd set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11wPs83tkwA
    3rd set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV6MoiC9LCY

Mixed semis with Sandiarto/Elisha Liu vs. Richard Liang/Melody Liang:
    1st set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhxiAb8ci5o
    2nd set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuYgzYt-ivc

Mixed semis with Toby Ng/Crystal Chow vs. Alvin Lau/Phyllis Chan:
    1st set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhinBNBMtjE
    2nd set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXQjMp2knOE

Sorry I didn't record the 3rd set of the last mixed semi as I switched over to record the men's finals. I also only got a partial of the 1st set as I switched over only after the other mixed semi ended.

If anyone has a problem with these matches being posted, please let me know.

A friend of mine who was at C2 suggested I record over what I'd taped earlier to capture the MD finals, but I shrugged it off. After watching it, I regretted that decision. It was a pretty amazing match!

About the best exchange was Derrick breaking a string during a long rally, and then finding the time to dash to the sidelines to grab a replacement racket. In a beautiful show of sportsmanship, Ronnie and Sandiarto continued the rally by smashing at Adrian who gamely returned everything they sent at him.

The irony of the whole thing was that, Derrick having rejoined the fray with his newly-acquired racket, the point ended when Adrian smashed and broke his OWN string!

Too bad I didn't get any of that on tape... :crying:

Millions of amusing moments during that game. More than anything I felt that the 2nd and 3rd sets were net-kissing fests :D. Someone should've taken a tally on how many shots were rolling over that net, and how many times the players kissed the net as a result.
