Day3/Round2 A clown supporter of Indonesia. His voice is loudest in the stadium. He had an Indonesia flag made out of red and white shuttlecocks. Peter Gade (PG)'s coach (seems to chide): "But Peter, you are not a clown. Stop making a fool of yourself. You are a big boy now. Cover yourself quickly. Shame on you." PG (seems to ponder): "This is my last hurrah. Next year, I'm coming back as a coach. Then it will be my turn to do the scolding. Mua-ha-ha!" Taufik Hifayat (TH)'s tie-shoelace-trick (admiring his shoes) Code: delaying his game against Nguyen Tien Minh (NTM). NTM: (Oh, I have delay tactic too) "Umpire, I have to change grip. Sorry, I have no coach to help me." Let's get on with the game.
Day3/Round2 Eriko Hirose (EH) vs Wang Xin (WX) is another match popular with spectators. The crowd threw their support for EH to force a 3rd game. (Later, the crowd turned their attention to another match and WX easily beat EH in the rubber.) "I was blinded by the camera flashes." EH: "I'd better hurry out of the way. 'Kate Middleton' is approaching." Zhang Ning (ZN) seems to be scolding WX: "Don't give me excuse of your hair blocking your sight. Look at my long luscious hair. It didn't bother me from winning 2 Olympic gold medals." ZN (seems to muse): "I could model for hair shampoo, you know." WX not looking at EH (and seems to reflect): "Your resilience is going to make me suffer later."
