i saw her at Hong Kong Open... she is quite good..
She is currently Canada's best WS player.
Would be great to hear from our BC members who know her well.
From what I've seen online, she has the skills but often looks uncomfortable or not confident when the going gets rough. But no doubt that is getting better as she gains more international experience.
A little article
What does it say? All I can see is the title of HK girl waiting for the $6000HKD from government for Olympics and the smaller title of No sponsorship in Canada for badminton players but can't really read the article itself...
From Badminton.ca (though about a year or two old):
http://badminton.ca/Files/National ...ATIONAL_TEAM_ATHLETE_PROFILE- Michelle Li.pdf
From Olympic.ca (Pan Am Games):
In her bio, as a hobby she included "breakfast". You gotta love it!
Hope this is better.
Unfortunately, I wasn't really looking at this article so the focus is a bit off.

An article in "Shuttler" magazine (by Badminton Ontario) featured Michelle Li. You can read the entire article here:
The article begins on page 17, if you want to get right to it.
What does Michelle Li look like?
With Alex Bruce...
very pretty legs!!!! yumyumyum... P
Michelle Li will be playing at the Yonex Canadian International Challenge 2011, being held at Moncton, NB December 13 through 17. Michelle is the top seed in the WS draw. She is also partnering Alex Bruce in the WD draw.
All the best, Michelle!
Congratulations to Michelle on her performances at the just-concluded Finnish Open 2012.
Michelle won the WD crown along with her partner Alex Bruce. They won in 3 games over their Malaysian oponents Mei Kwan Chow and Meng Yean Lee.
Earlier, Michelle lost in the WS finals to Yao Jie of the Netherlands. That makes her WD title all the more significant, as she was back on court about an hour after her WS match got over.
In the BWF rankings, ML holds steady in WS rankings at 24. Her WD rankings (with Alex Bruce) have slipped 2 places to 29. A temporary aberration, I would suppose!
Hold your horse, pcll99
Sounds like someone will go nuts following her story . . .
Sat around her in one hkopen. Can confirm she is very pretty up close.
Congratulations for the 2 Gold Medals in Peru. Looking forward to seeing you playing in the Olympics for both WS and WD.
Very impressive win for Michelle defeating Ai Goto who came all the way from Japan probably expecting an easy win and points
(Edit: Recent article about Michelle Li toward the Olympics)
Sad she withdrew from US Open
LOG draw is out.
...In the women's singles draw, world champion and number one seed Wang Yihan of China will face the unseeded Michelle Li of Canada in her opening match of the Games.
Canada's best against China's best! Fantastic!
Go, Michelle! One match, one outcome!
