Last thing I heard, they were redoing the Girl's Singles draw because Pia Zebadiah was pulled out by Lius Pongoh due to fact that she exceeded the Junior age limit... He he he...

What's the age limit in this tournament? Are there age brackets? Like under 13? under 15? etc?

    BS seeds....

    Seeded BS:
    1. Mohd Arif Abdul Latif [MAS] vs. Paultry Yustiam [INA]
5/8. Ashton Cheng Yongzhao [SIN] vs. qualifier #6
3/4. Lim Fang Yang [MAS] vs. Christian Ryan [INA]
5/8. Bui Bang Duc [VIE] vs. Prasetyo Yogi [INA]

5/8. Huang Chao [SIN] vs. M. Nur Rofi'l [INA]
3/4. Vountus Indra Mawan [MAS] vs. Jeffrey Wong Hao Cong [SIN]
5/8. Kuang Kam Chung [MAS] vs. some INA guy, not clear
    2. Wong Wing Ki [HKG] vs. Thng Seong Boon [SIN]

The top INA Juniors were dismissed either by their own club or by PBSI due to age-cheating... The top 2 Under-19 earlier this year were Bandar Sigit Pamungkas and Nugroho Andi Saputro... but they were pressured to tell the truth by their own club, PB. Djarum. Thus they were not allowed to participate in Under-19 tournaments anymore. So no seeded INA boys in this tournament... :p

The most notable 'real' Under-19 [after passing the PBSI forensic tests] are Arif Saputro Nandang that could meet Lim Fang Yang [MAS] in the round of 32. ;) ...and Aditya Febrian Arifin that will face Ho Khek Mong [MAS] in the first round [Round 64] and might meet the 2nd seed from HKG in the Round of 16...

    Why cheat on age?

Oh, I can explain this... and I hope some PBSI officials in charge read this too. The reasons so many cheat are because:
    1. Pelatnas PBSI for a number of years [starting in the mid-to-late 1990s] only recruit Under 19 players into the National Team. It is virtually impossible for anyone over 20 to enter the National Team for the first time. This practice gives almost no chance for late-bloomers who have not entered the National Team. The last person I know who got recruited into our National Team when he was over 20 was Joko Suprianto. Thus.... boys and girls have to be seen performing highly when they are below 19 [Taruna] a.k.a. Juniors.
    2. It is quite easy for parents to make false birth certificate in Indonesia. Especially in remote rural areas. You can start to have your birth certificate maybe 3-to-4-to-5 years after you're born... :p
    3. Even though the forensic techniques are there to check age, PBSI never use them until the last 2 years. There are more than one forensic techiques [bone, teeth etc.]. In general, they are not good at diagnosing someone's age after they are 19. But they are more accurate in determining the age of younger kids. Just like it is hard for us to differentiate who is 24 and who is 26 by looking at them, but easier to guess who is 6 years old and who is 8 years old.
    4. In the past, there are no heavy consequences if you are caught. Those who were caught cheating can go on competing in the lower age category. Even those in the National Team who later on admit they cheated got no clear punishment.
    5. The parents don't feel ashamed doing this because they said everyone else is doing it, if I don't do it for my kid, he/she will never ever go to the INA National Team. They claim they are doing it out of love and fairness ["since the authorities are not leveling the playing field fairly, we shall level the playing field using our own method!"]... :p
So... as you see, the fraud triangle is complete...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
    Motivation: reason 1
    Opportunity: reason 2, 3, and 4
    Self-rationalization: reason 5
