Today, LS was not in his normal game. Don't know whether it was pressure or fatigue. Hope he improves more in upcoming world juniors. Congrats to LSF.

Let's see if she or any Malaysian athlete can grab the gold in the Summer Olympic.

Possibly fatigue after experienced marathon match against Kodai Naraoka in semifinal, Sen was passive and slow movement while his opponent controlled the match from the first game, injected the pace to attack aggressively. It's quite unpredictable that Li Shifeng nails YOG gold medal here, we'll see next month WJC in Canada. Looks like Li will be China main hopeful in MS category instead of the underperformed Bai Yupeng.

Goh Jin Wei completes her World Junior Champion title with YOG gold medal, the Malaysian prodigy could handle the pressure well, stayed calmly to eliminate reigning AJC Wang Zhiyi in tight final contest, 16-21 / 21-13 / 21-19. Looks like South America is lucky ground for Goh JW as she won 2015 WJC in Lima, Peru.

A contrast fashion in bronze medal match of MS & WS, Kodai Naraoka battled hard to overcome French challenger Arnaud Merkle, 21-17 / 24-26 / 22-20 meanwhile Thailand girl Phittayaporn Chaiwan powered past SGP player Jaslyn Hooi, 21-9 / 21-13.

It's good for badminton that players from France and Ireland are coming up and defeating Asian powerhouses. A win from GJW should be harnessed by BAM and I hope that Malaysia can build on this as their WS quality is low.

I supposed so, otherwise he wouldn't be selected for the World University Games with others like Ren Pengbo who is still being sent to tournaments.

But, obviously, he'd have to start all over again , from scratch, just like Li Xuerui is doing, a long, hard journey ahead for him. Luckily, at 21, age is on his side.

Yup, notice Huang Kaixiang too. It needs more time for him to feel international competition atmosphere after quite long time, two years being sidelined due to foot injury.

In the individual event of the 2018 FISU World University Games, Ren Pengbo emerged champion beating the TPE Lin Chung-Yi, and the two bronze medallists are Lin Guipu, who lost to TPE Lin CY in the semifinals, and MAS Ramachandran who lost to Ren PB

One half of the semifinals 2018 FISU WUBC matches is here but I searched in vain for Lin Guipu's match with TPE Lin Chung-Yi, only the MS Ren Pengbo vs MAS S. Ramachandran, the WS, and the XD

I am afraid the standard of the players are not impressive.

Judging by the scoreline Lin Guipu lost narrowly to Lin Chun Yi, 19-21 despite had good leading,18-14 at deciding game. Lin GP needs systematic training before starting to compete in BWF tournaments.

Tan Boon Heong is playing with Kim Sa Rang now in Macau Open. Got through the qualification, and scheduled to play Han/Zhou tomorrow.
