"At the Korea Masters this week, even national team members are being coached courtside by their pro or university team coaches, but this is not unusual in Korea’s late autumn event. " http://www.badzine.net/2018/12/ahn-jae-chang-becomes-the-new-korean-head-coach/
LCW started showing results from 2005-06 if I'm not wrong. He was 23 yo back then in 2005. So I think LZJ have 2-3 years more. Also, every player's potential is different. We can't expect any other Malaysian player to play or succeed like LCW (obviously fans pray, that's natural) or any Chinese player to replicate what Lin Dan has achieved.
LZJ has probably spent half the time on court as SWH this tournament...plus he’s 10 years younger. And he still can’t use that to his advantage to tire out SWH...well maybe that’s just bad coaching.
How much experience does it take to just play defensively and keep the shuttle in play until your opponent gets tired? There’s countless Momota videos out there to show him how it’s done...
I know it's frustrating , buddy. If any other young Indian player would have lost like that , I would have reacted the same. But then again, you have to give the player some time. Failures are pillars of success.
I think it’s probably bad coaching strategy as well. LZJ obviously came in with an all out offensive strategy...despite the fact that everyone knows Korean defence is like a brick wall. LZJ could barely make a dent...and kept taking more and more risks as SWH kept getting things back. Too bad he doesn’t have LCW’s accuracy to land all his smashes on the lines... Should have gone with the defensive strategy and waited for SWH to crumble...which was starting to happen a bit near the middle of G2...too bad it was already too late by then.
