Hendra wasn't injured and it was in windy hall. Different conditions. Yeah the final there was ended with straight games and under 30 minutes too indeed, but...
Boe/Mogensen is splitting already. The AE 2019 last week was their last outing together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On the topic of why the Malaysians didn't flick to Hendra, Steen shares the opinion some of us expressed here
Well, I don't think flick serve can be done easily. Flick serve has high probability of being faulted. Probably the Malaysians aren't capable of doing that just yet.
Can't tell if sarcastic or not. Seeing how anyone with the ability to play a decent lift can flick serve, I really hope you were being sarcastic
Never have seen them want it more. Not even when they won WC in 2013 and 2015. The last time i see Ahsan that elated when they won 2014 AsianGames. The last few points in AG, there is 1 moment when Hendra shown some emotion. Probably thats the only time too other than the AE.
Why are the playing the Swiss Open even though Setiawan is evidently injured, whereas Axelsen seems to need a break after the All England?!
Hmmm, because Hendra is a God. Seriously, VA always seems to take a break whenever possible. As for Hendra, the fact that he is still playing means that he is able to play. Only he knows himself the best.
Yeah, sorry to say but I noticed that, too. Viktor uses his ankle operation whenever he seems to have a dip in form as an excuse. I know it's hard for pros to keep their form and do vigorous training while remaining injury-free or train while being slightly injured but still...
Or maybe it's because they play doubles, are known for their short rallies, Hendra is the net player that moves even less whereas Axelsen plays singles with lots more shots, way higher distance covered and weighs about twice as much as one of them, which puts more strain on the ankle. But let's stick to the 'wants to take a break' story
Makes sense, but still all players should be used to the requirements of their respective discipline.
The prize money and maybe mizuno wants them to be there. Since they have spent on the air ticket and accomodation too
In a way, yes, however without knowing further details about his ankle operation and problems I'm not going to judge. Maybe it's still irritable and the long run at the AE or a specific movement triggered it again, or he just isn't back at 100% and the long tournament caused a slight setback, or it's a bone structure thing thatll reoccur whenever he overuses it.... I don't know. He still has years to play, so not overdoing it for the comparatively unimportant Swiss Open is probably the correct decision, career-wise.
i think they try to get some points from the Swiss Open. a good ranking now will make things a bit easier comes May when they will have an easier draw in tournament's early round. or maybe i'm wrong.
