Anyone else received any samples of the Zymax 64GRP string which will be known as Zymax TX when it goes on full release?

It's noticeably rougher than ZM Fire and stiffer. According to Goode Sports, it's their BG80 rival.

I've just strung it at 30lb +10% Prestretch and theres no issue with tension but it does like to cut into itself.

.64 according to the sales manager but I have nothing on the packet to say. Being ashaway though, the .64 is probably closer to a .66/.67.

I was told there would be a .68 too.

Saw it on their fb a bit back but good to see more info about it here. A stiff string is really all that was missing from the lineup. From what you’ve wrote, it seems they’ve not gone the 80p route (how I imagined they would have gone) but raw. BG80 replacement for Mark A?

I do wish they had some way of getting those prototypes tho through some subscription program as i’ve already tried everything in their lineup multiple times now (settled on 62f) with nothing else left lol. Very few companies cater to stupid tension users.

30lb + 10% may be beyond this string, hopefully it just has a bedding in period.

It's a sample mate, there was nothing on the packet other than a code name. It does the Ashaway "move a lot" thing too.

That’s weird, I’d imagine that wouldn’t be the case if it’s trying to eat into itself. I haven’t gotten samples so I wasn’t aware that they didn’t put info in it. I thought there would be a small piece of paper on or in there with max tension.

Is this string code name, "X-2763"? If so, it can take 33lbs. easy; and at that tension, was still quite durable. :)

OK, I never tried that one. These were the last three I tried:

    X-2726 (Orange)
    X-2734 (Pale Yellow)
    X-2763 (Black)

Orange, yellow and black were the 3 colours mentioned to me. There's going to be this .64 and a .68 according to the sales manager.

I love BG80 and I've been trying strings in the past months to find something better for me... So far, I didn't find anything. There's a lot that I liked about 62 Fire, but I didn't like the feel. So this new one will be interesting.

Ok, it's been on the racquet a few days and it's barely dropped. I've been using bg80 at 28lb recently with the temperature having dropped. Knowing zymax is normally soft, I went back to 30lb. It's too tight for me now. As ashaway strings go, this is quite hard and rough. I don't really like thinner strings so the .68 version should tick a few boxes for me.

Are they anywhere near BG80 this time? I've heard some encouraging hints from an insider that the goal is/was definitely "harder".

You know you and I share a similar taste in sadistic string and racquet selections. This .64 and 30lb +10% is too hard for me right now. It's tough to test the repulsion on smashes but control on my mixed practice Thursday was insane. I put the shuttle anywhere I wanted as long as it wasnt a smash. The setup is too tough for my D1 mens matches.

It's also on my Superlight Phantom which has no dampening at all.

Got any lying around? "Too hard for DB" sounds right up my street.
