Hahahaaaa, that was a good one! There is a saying in German (apparently originated from the former chancellor Konrad Adenauer) - "Was kümmert mich mein Geschwätz von gestern?". In English something in the likes of "What do I care about my chitchat from yesterday?".
Sooo... we are approaching 4 weeks and about 8 sessions of N61 being the main string in use. The initial magic has starting to fade around session #4, but it still plays and feels really, really good. In terms of repulsion, it has settled around the same level as N63 over time - which is top notch, don't get me wrong. Still there is a lot of feedback and control on touch shots. No signs of wear so far.
N61. For those people who like to hit a winner off the tape and not apologise for it being a fluke (We don't ask how long it took me to dial it in for that session. Full on sighs from my partners every time I went for, and failed a netshot. totally worth it.)
Happy New Year, everyone! I wanted to share my thoughts on the N70 string after about 7 weeks of use. It’s strung at 28 lbs on my Axforce 100. I also just strung my N90-III with the same string but at 26 lbs this time (I’ll explain why I dropped the tension below). For context, the only 0.70 mm strings I’ve tried before are BG65 and ABBT (if that counts). The packaging for the N70 says it’s a soft-feeling string, but it doesn’t feel soft to me at all. It’s more like a thicker N68 with much less repulsion at the same tension. After 7 weeks at 28 lbs, it still feels quite hard. That’s why I decided to drop the tension to 26 lbs for tomorrow’s games before trying out the N65. Comparing the two side by side, the 7-week-old 28 lbs string isn’t far off from the newly strung 26 lbs. So far, tension retention seems solid. Looking forward to seeing how it plays tomorrow! FYI tennisnuts (UK) has reels of N58, N61 and N63 at decent prices. Seems like an odd selection but I'm not complaining..going to go straight for N58 relatively blindly... I've tried N61 and liked it. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
Another month and another ~8 sessions on the clock and the N61 is still going strong while feeling great. No signs of wear or notching, still super crisp and lively feedback with massive repulsion. This is a phantastic string, hands down. And I'm going to have to order a reel for myself before the re-start of the club league. The engineer in me is dying to know what kind of technology Li-Ning (or better their OEM) has implemented in the N-Series that they are able to maintain such a lively feel over the whole lifetime. They do lose tension as does every other string, but they just don't seem to become dull or feeling dead whatsoever. And they all seem to offer outstanding durability relative to their gauges.
Finally got the N65 strung up to test out! I had it done last Thursday, tightening it a bit more than usual at 29 lbs instead of my usual 27-28 lbs. After letting it settle for five days, I’m excited to hit with it tomorrow. Can’t wait to see how it performs! Sent from my RMX3363 using Tapatalk
This is getting ridiculous. They should name this string "John McClane" - it just won't die! There's now some heavy notching in the sweetspot for at least the last 2-3 sessions and I was sure to make it snap last practise. We did a good 45 minutes of smash and defense drills and I was smashing the crap out of it. Massive frame hits included. And... nothing... and it still feels fully acceptable overall. Truly remarkable. Next chance to make it snap will today in the evening. So I'll be playing Hans Gruber once again and try my very best.
How is the N58? The N61 is great for short action strokes and decent power on smashes too. I'm now curious about the N58.
