Yonex released some more infos on their western website about AX88S, AX88D and DUO8XP. This thread is about the latter one. Taken from yonex.com: IIRC this it the first highend from Yonex which has a string tension limit of 35lbs. The design is really aweful but a stiff highend which can take 35lbs within the warranty sounds like a holy grail when I remember the sinking issues of the past years. Hope that this racket performs well. After the DG and DX series for high tension this is a racket which will be interesting to some BC guys. @DinkAlot @swsh @Ch1k0 Feel free to discuss about it. I'm actually unsure if I want to try this. The AX88S has my attention far more. Especially so since I was an AT 800DEF user when I was younger. This if I look at it correctly is basically the Arcsaber 8DX replacment. Which if it is, it should turn out to be quite a lovely racket. Except for the general player.. As a Z-Strike user I can say that a tamer and more forgiving version could be a very great racket for many players. I wouldn't see watering down always as a negative aspect. Not everyone can use a 50g headweight banger with a steelshaft at 40lbs with a steelcoated BG80. More demanding and extreme is not always better. We all get older and after my nervus ulnaris injury I'm very pleased with easy too use and less demanding or watered down.
The 8DX was an extra stiff racket. I expect something less demanding. It seems to fill the gap between the DUO10 and the extrastiff DZS.
I see it as the confidence of Yonex to produce a sturdy racket. Especially after a period of many rackets which sink at higher tension (I don't mean mortal tensions) and the development to thinner strings, this seems like Yonex has listen and reacted. I'm very curious.

Haha I don’t see it as a negative aspect at all. If anything I’m very happy that there can be a much more friendlier version for the general population that wants something robust and high end but doesn’t quite want to have something as hard to asjust to as a ZStrike.
Wasn't your ZS not gone after a half year with something close to 35lbs? So the ZS didn't turned out robust for you, but maybe this one.
Duora 8 XP is like Arc 8DX when it was first launched. Arc 8DX was the first Yonex hi-tension frame (27lbs) before VT80 was out. Now with DUO8XP, I hope more Yonex Hi-End with high tension frames will come out
I think D8XP is for those who think D7 is too soft. D7 is very popular in Doubles players. However, it's too soft for high tension users. D8XP,IMO, is designed to fill this gap.
Start flipping rackets it's an interesting experience and you'll have a new racket every week or however early you want to try.
