I heard from some of friends. Yonex will launch new stringing machine Precision 8.0. Anyone here has heard about it? Is the news true? Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
I guess this will be "smaller" Precision 9.0 (like the ES5 Protech in the past) for those who want a more compact machine when e.g. being/stringing on a tournament because the Precision 9.0 is so big.
Well in Canada the 5.0 is 9-10.5k. The 9.0 is 20k+ So the 8.0 if I would guess is around 15-20k Canadian.
I think dealer price in Japan is under 1,000,000 Yen, maybe 957,000ish. 1,280,000 I think dealer price for Precision 9.0
I agree they are a bit high but you get what you pay for, I guess if you know how to use it. A car is a car, it can get you from point a to point b, a cheap car does the same as an expensive car, but if you know how to us the expensive car to its potential it is more enjoyable and you can get the most potential out of your expensive car. If you string rackets as a job or as a hobby you only see a pile of overpriced metal, if you string for passion and knowledge you see that overpriced metal as a work of art, something appreciated, to help you create art for others to enjoy. If you string a lot of rackets it is well worth the money, a hobby stringer I can see no value in it.
I have not seen much of the tension head, but I saw a mock up drawing of the tool tray between the tension head and the turntable.
It kinda looks like it has that badminton function where the tension head gets a little closer to the racket, also there are bolts on the top of the turntable which might mean it is locked in from the top instead of the bottom which all other Toyozouki machines are made. Looks like the thickness of ES5 Protech for the turntable, I like the PT8 turntable because I can put my name in it!
Just noticed too in the mock up drawing and the actual picture there are holes for the clamps you are not using!!
The new machine looks like a mixture of the P9, the ES5Protech and Tesla cybertruck (tension unit) It seems that they tried to make a machine which is lighter and better for tournaments. That is maybe the reason of the Y shaped foot and the holes on the edges in the turntable.
Ok.. I have to admit I like the subtle design decisions and not compromising much for it to sit between their entry and high end electronic stringing machines.
Given the exchange rate, it would be better to just order from Japan directly + shipping + duty vs ordering via our home country.
I have always been here! ♡ Plus I am no master only a master debator minus the de =P Sent from my SC-01L using Tapatalk
