This is what I got from a friend.. not sure if worth a try... but we got nothing to lose... for those afflicted with the swine flu, take min. 6 green apples a day and drink fresh orange juice... if you can't chew the apples, you can blend it... so far it helps those with the symptoms and diagnosed with the flu...

    Interesting analysis... :D:D:D

Anyway, LYB talks like that all the time until his players lose. For example, in 06 AG, LYB said "LD can win if he really wants to". When LD lost to LHI, instead of following logic and say "LD was not really interested in winning this one", LYB said something like, the top 5 players are all around the same level, so it's normal for LD to lose now and then. ;)

Aiyoo, now there's also the H1N1 threat in India, this was also in the evening tv news :

H1N1 virus the enemy to beat at World Badminton Championships

    The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Tue, 08/11/2009 8:20 PM | Sports
After the terror threats, the world’s top badminton players competing in Hyderabad, India are now facing a real battle against H1N1 virus.

Malaysian doubles coach Jeremy Gan is receiving intensive medical treatment at a local hospital after he was admitted there with symptoms of H1N1 infection two days ago.

Badminton World Federation’s chief operating officer Thomas Lund told reporters Tuesday the world badminton body was waiting for the results of a medical examination on the coach, which would be announced in two days, Antara state news agency reported.

The organizers said they had taken all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus among the players and officials.

Gan was rushed to hospital after the Malaysian team doctor was unable to alleviate his fever and flu.

Malaysia’s Indonesian coach Rexy Mainaky said his colleague had looked sick ever since they arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday. “Before the Indian outing, he accompanied his players to a tournament in Thailand. I don’t know why he fell sick,” Rexy said.

Security has been tightened at the venue of the World Championships following a threat from the Lashkar-e-Taiba group to launch an attack by Aug. 15. England withdrew from the tournament because of the security threat.

Organisers dismiss reports of China pullout plans

HYDERABAD: The organisers of the Badminton World Championships have dismissed reports that China was planning to pull out of the event over security concerns as England had on the eve of the tournament.

"I have the entire BWF (Badminton World Federation) team with me. Nothing like that has come to our notice," BWF vice-president and Indian federation chief V.K. Verma said on Tuesday.

"The Chinese coach has gone on record saying he is more than happy with the arrangements, particularly with the security cover," Verma added. "There is no issue at all."

The England squad withdrew from the Championships on Sunday citing a "specific terrorist threat".

Badminton England said in a statement the decision followed "concerns about the English team potentially being a target of attack in the event of a terrorist act".

An Indian official blamed media reports for causing the panic that had forced China to make contingency plans in the event of a call to withdraw.

"The first priority is the safety of the team. I don't exclude the possibility of pulling out," Beijing News quoted China's head coach Li Yongbo as saying.

"The World Championships take place every year. We needn't risk our lives," he told the paper.

Li said the Chinese team had started working on the return tickets and would decide whether to stay after speaking to Sports Minister Liu Peng on Tuesday.

LOL, we all know who's the joke here:rolleyes:

It is silly to even ask the how or if question, the fact is because LD is 'already' superior to lcw', just count the titles between them. LCW have yet played in a WC final while many players have achieved that already.

PS: Even if LD loses to lcw or china team withdraw, LD is STILL superior to lcw base on current winning records

i get it when losers make excuses after a match, they just can't admit they suck.

but the real losers r the nerds hiding behind their computers wingeing when their heros fail to live up to their expectations.

gosh stop whining abt china this, ld and lyb that....

do sumthing meaningful for yr team for a change, lol. that way u would look more classy rather than a whiny douche bag

    no offense:)

It wasn't about the outcome of the match.

What's stunning was LD's unusual body language and very concerted delay tactics throughout the match. It was the first time I've seen it. Indirectly LD's coaches are saying LCW is superior that's why LD had to add on extraneous means. It represents a watershed in LD's coaches' perception of the LCW/LD rivalry. (That's why LD did not want to play LCW in top form in IO09.)

LCW should be delighted with the compliment and the extra special training.

That's too much effort especially when travelling.

Just take 1000mg or 2 of Vit C daily. Try Redoxon or CA-C 1000 Sandoz effervescent tablets. (Redoxon tastes better because of the sweetener but it's a lot more expensive maybe because of the added zinc.I switch to Sandoz because it's cheaper, the added calcium is more important than the zinc but it took me a while to get used to the taste.) Put one to dissolve in a glass of room temperature or cold water and you get a fizzy drink.

Some doctors laugh at the idea of consuming 1000mg of vit. C daily saying we can get enough from balanced diets, etc. Reality now is most people lead more stressful lives and eat poorly. So it's good to supplement properly.

But don't wait till you fall sick. Taking 1000mg vit. C daily may help prevent one from falling ill even when those around you are down. This supplement shouldn't be an excuse for not taking fresh fruits. Ask your doctor (I'm not one.) By trying out, you will know what works for you.

As long as CHN is winning,it 'll be gutsy for LYB to pull out. But if CHN starts to lose again like BCL....

Danger is that since Jeremy Gan has been in contact with the MAS team, assuming he is indeed confirmed to have caught the swine flu, those who had been with him will most likely be quarantined also.

Hopefully LCW did not come into contact with Jeremy Gan!

Malaysian coach quarantined after coming down with fever

MALAYSIA’S mixed doubles coach Jeremy Gan was rushed to hospital after coming down with fever and sore throat.

Jeremy has been admitted to the isolation unit of the Chest Hospital in Hyderabad for a 48-hour observation.
[IMG] Masked protector: Malaysia’s Sabrina Chong and Ong Jien Guo walking past a masked security personnel after losing to Chinese mixed doubles pair He Hanbin-Yu Yang yesterday.

And the organisers of the World Championships have got down to work on preventive measures over the fear of the influenza A (H1N1) virus that is spreading in India.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) and organisers also had a meeting with all team managers to brief them on the do’s and don’ts during the competition to curb the virus.

In Kuala Lumpur, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek assured parents of shuttlers in Hyderabad that they were safe.
“The Indian government has given us 200% guarantee on safety at the venue,” he said yesterday.

Meanwhile, Malaysian team manager Peter Yeow said that Malaysians are taking all preventive measures.

“Jeremy had fever and sore throat. He has a sinus problem and we thought this was common. He sought medical treatment on Monday night and the doctor sent him to the hospital,” he said.

“He was sent by an ambulance at about 10pm (on Monday) to the isolation unit. He has to be there for at least two days. There is nothing to panic. It is the required procedure that we had to follow.”

Peter said that it was a requirement that players and officials from the country affected by the epidemic to be referred to hospital immediately if they show symptoms of fever and flu.
He said he had briefed the team on precautions to take.

“There will be body checks and their temperatures will be taken daily. We have also instructed them to wear a mask everyday and they have been told to be disciplined to maintain good hygiene.

“The players are following our instructions and we are keeping in touch with the BAM (Badminton Association of Malaysia), NSC (Natio*nal Sports Council) and NSI (National Sports Institute).”

Peter said that the other coaches would help guide the mixed doubles players in the absence of Jeremy. The other coaches are doubles chief coach Rexy Mainaky, Rosman Razak, Chang Kim Wai and singles coaches Rashid Sidek (chief) and Misbun Sidek.
