St. Jakobshalle, Basel txt: Dille Andersen, WBSO Int.Press Men's Singles: Peter Gade, DEN against Kenneth Jonassen, DEN 21-18, 21-13, 21-12 They are good friends, they practice together on a very regular basis, they meet each other in the Danish league ... but when it comes to competition their friendship is put on hold! They had met about 15 times prior to today's match and only twice with Kenneth Jonassen as the winner! In the first game both had to find their way into the match and Jonassen found it best, winning the game 21-18. Second game showed a Gade, turning up the turbo. It was obsious that the players know each other well and some sharp shots flew over the net! Gade came best out of the second game, winning 21-13. In the third game, Gade's variation was paying off. He gave Jonassen a tough time to make up for the thunder coming from Gade! Was really made the difference in this match was Gade's aggressivity that prevented Jonassen from attacking! Gade got his first match point at 20-12 - missed it but got the match on second as Jonassen shot into the net!
Peter Gade always beat Kenneth so it's nothing too amazing. Is there a time where KJ beat PG in major tournament?
MSF prediction: Lin vs Gade!!! havent this in awhile, should be exciting. Chen jin isnt looking so good, Gade should sort him out. I dont see how Santoso could beat Lin, espicially since they played last week already I think the result will be similar.
wait a minut, Gade beat Kenneth 21-18, 21-13, 21-12? wow, most of time, when I win, people refuse to play a third set...never bothered to ask for a third game when I lost the first two as well... How sportsmenlike of the two to play a third when the match was over..such crowdpleasers (yes, yes, I know, mistakes happen...I just couldn't resist)
