He didnt retire yet right? I remember when he won the WC bronze medal, what a nice moment it was.
I think he played either in Thailand Master or Malaysia Master this month
He's playing in the lower tier of tournaments nowadays such as International Challenges or International Series. Notable achievement last year is a bronze medal at the SEA Games.
Still slogging on but no longer at the level he was when he won that WC bronze I'm afraid.
Yep, Thailand Masters.
I have to ask though
Does anybody knows whether he is doing something else besides being a professional badminton player nowadays?
Vietnam is not a very strong badminton country, and I can only imagine that the support from their government is not as much as Indonesia
For a player such his caliber, I don't want him to have such financial difficulties in the future
Vietnam didn't send their men's team for Badminton Asia Team Championships. Previously Vietnam didn't send any team (men's & women's) for 2016 edition of BATC.
And for the financial support, yes they had financial difficulties. Read a little story here. (Indonesia language only, sorry).
Currently, he's become a coach in a badminton team at Ho Chi Minh City.
@Sundis If his statement in BadmintonPlanet is true, he may retire after 2017.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old Nguyen who currently serving as a player and a coach in the Ho Chi Minh City badminton team, said he will continue his professional career through 2017. [Source]
thanks. hope that he has great future in this other career. maybe become a head coach for Vietnam or some other countries as well
since mod add (张蓓雯) to the title http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/zhang-beiwen-张蓓雯.175358/ . Can u add (Nguyễn Tiến Minh) to this thread too
Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will play in PBL (Premier Badminton League) India Season 4, starting from December 22, 2018 - January 13, 2019.
Both players are in the same team : Bengaluru Raptors (formerly named Bengaluru Blasters)
I think we could also asking help from @Loh to edit the title and add that (Nguyễn Tiến Minh) since he's the OP here
Yeah, don't you realize that you're the OP?
It's running great here and Nguyen Tien Minh has achived 20 pages which is unbelievable
Adding something like (Nguyễn Tiến Minh) is a tribute for him . Let's @Cheung help @vozer here
Yes I remembered I was the OP (Original Poster).
I'm happy to note that NTM has made a beautiful and perhaps the "hottest" catch for himself when he married this lady:
Vũ Thị Trang (born 19 May 1992) is a badminton player from Vietnam. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was a bronze medallist at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore
In 2016, Vũ married fellow Vietnam badminton Olympian Nguyễn Tiến Minh.
About time I showed my appreciation to he who achieved so much with so little.
Very nice tribute to a real fighter.
Especially liked the 19-20 point with Kashyap. That was TMN at high-speed!
NTM is scheduled to meet LD at this WC R1.
Will it be too much for him to beat the 2-time Olympic champ?
