Hello

Where is it held this year?
Who thinks they're going to qualify for it this year? (Don't be so sure)
Well, I'm out

it's either being held in Milton, Ontario (never head of this place..) or Hamilton, Ontario... (heard of THIS place...)

anyway, i think i should make it... if we ever get a convener that is... haha.... all my talent wasted all because of a lack of convener.. :D

Hamilton, I forgot where I read it, but it was some website that said it was in Hamilton.

highschool provincials... you can be 22 and still attend if you are still in highschool... i'm not kidding, some of them are that old...

You can't have more than 5 years of accumulated highschool. So you can be 30 and still play.

I know of more than 2 people who was able to complete in Track & Field at OFSSA who had taken "grade OAC" for more once or twice. That's what my coach told me anyway. This was a few years ago but I'm not aware of any changes in the OFSSA rules.

hm ...

i really want to go to ofssa this year so i can see hwo things goes
and then on my final year i'll know how high the standards are there.

lets see if i'm not wrong this year carl baxter should win a pool singles.

and doubles are still unknown. my school has a chance tho.

Ofssa?

Hrm...me and my partner got 1st place in LOSSA east Sr. boys doubles. the next tournament is like in Ajax which i believe is the Lossa East vs Lossa West i think. Anyone got any info?

*ugh*. I heard ajax players have like a national level coach and are super hard core. They've been practicing since the middle of september early october compared to November. They practice on saturdays and have a seperate club aside from the school team practices.

Haha...I see these guys all the time. Nathanial, Tim, Andrew, and Ryan (don't know which side east or west he is) are the better ones...and their coach Wayne King I've known for awhile. I went to a camp coached by him in the winter. They train in their club which is called Phoenix which is separate from school team.

Super hard core? You have to be if you want to win. :) Also depends on what you think constitutes super hard core. ;) These guys play in tournaments all season-round, so of course they start in September.

They said there is no competition in their area. Perhaps you can prove them wrong? ;)

I know Nathanial (#1 in U19) is playing singles, Ryan (#12 in U16) is playing singles, Tim (#7 in U19) and Andrew (#9 in U19) I'm going to assume are playing doubles together since they've been playing the whole season with each other. (All are SR) That's basically both singles and one doubles spot taken for sure for OFSAA qualifying in your district. Well, Ryan is going to U16 nationals, so he might not be there.

You might end up playing Tim and Andrew, and if you do, you'll have to play pretty good to beat them.

As for me, I think I've got a good chance of making OFSAA for singles this year. Last year, was let down by a moody partner in mens doubles and got 3rd. (Just missed! ) I'm in the COSSA region, BTW.

it's possible that ALL of TDSSAA might not have ofsaa... but right now, the front runner (unfortunately) for not having ofsaa IS north region... which happens to be my region.... maybe i should move.... just for ofsaa... :D

yeah... last years ofsaa was funny.... at the dinner where all the players had to go, the ppl said "semi casual, not too formal" i was like "oh f***" and i went to it in t-shirt and jeans....

I'm actually quite surprised you didn't go in some Yonex badminton shorts, polo shirt and some court shoes :)

Thats some pretty hardcore ****! yea...i played with one of the guys who goes to the Club in Ajax...he was wearing a t-shirt i think it was like Harwood Phoenix something.

anyways the Loss east vs West i believe is on April 23 @ Ajax which is going to be interesting. Hey phill how many ppl qualify for ofsaa? is it just 1 team per division i guess... like u have to be first in COSSA to be able to participate at lossa?

Btw i wonder if anyone knows who got 4th place in LOSSA West cus i think teh matchups are set up like this:

east vs west

1 vs 4
2 vs 3
3vs 2
4 vs 1

to ryvius: Cossa has two teams to qualify for Ofsaa for each event and not one. Just to let you know, and hopefully i can qualify for Cossa first, seeing that I need to work really hard with my partner because I partner is kind of a newbie. But oh well, I'll be doing my best.

Oh that sux... partern chemistry and teamwork is key. We went from 0 to 1st in one year so i find it very important. The 2nd doubles team from my school didn't really play much together so they were unable to beat opponents they could have beaten if they had played more together.

"Newbie"?? are u sure u want to go into a tournament where your partner is a newbie since that might hurt.
