ASY upping the tempo.
id still pick ASY even if she is not at a 100%what if the final were Marin vs ASY? who would win?

and marin form at that wc was just as good as it was at the this olympics too. she didn't lose a single set before she met asy and she basically destroyed both tty & ay prior to that finalASY. Just rewatch last year's WC finals between the two. CM was healthy last year, and 1 year younger, and she still had no answers for ASY.
correct but then again she's been struggling with knee injury herself since that ag winASY journey to gold is quite so so.
AY long recovery, CYF is lost to HBJ, CM retired in match, TTY still injury
love asy but i think prime tty will beat her. it will be close though. asy still hasn't reach her peak imo, i feel like she still can get even better especially attacking wiseCongratz to ASY.
ASY has such good retrieval for a WS player. She is one of the few WS players that does a full dive on her smash returns, something you normally see among the top MS players. I wonder if the other national teams are training their WS players to do full dives for smash returns. Besides smash returns, ASY's level of retrieval is just a stop above the other WS players.
HBJ did pretty well. But she was just outmatched and outgunned. To be honest, HBJ is lucky to have a silver medal because of CM's injury. CM was on track to beat HBJ yesterday. What would be interesting would be to see prime TTY, so that would be 2017 TTY, against prime ASY. 2017 TTY would be master of racket technique with the stamina/fitness to go with it, against prime ASY who is the master of retrieval.
Sad to see CM could not stay fit until the finals. I think CM would have given ASY a better run for her money. But if we go by last year's WC finals, even a healthy CM had no answers for a healthy ASY in her prime.

she beat cyf in wc sf, ag final (both team event & individual), & ae final. in fact asy only lost 1 time to cyf in the final and that was their last meeting in indonesiaYeah, I feel ASY got a little lucky with CYF eliminated. To be fair to ASY though, she did beat CYF last year on her run to the WC gold medal. So I think ASY goes into a match as the favorite against CYF. However, I noticed that CYF has a decent head to head against ASY in the last 2 years, so I think if CYF is in her form and is in the zone, she would pose a serious threat to ASY.
a 90% asy beats a 100% hbj 99% of the time. the difference in skill level is vast, plus asy never panics.i thought after watching her in so & io she's almost back to at least 90% but she's moving much slower here in paris
nor has he ever shown he's the type of player to lose his nerve, like viktor has many times. i've got it 60-40 in kv's favor.KV did not win a 500+ BWF tournament since then, but perhaps he is the type of guy that shows up at majors.
