So LZJ rejected the 1M ringgit salaries offered by BAM in January 2022? Does that mean he is professional now, is he affliated or have higher salaries from any companies than the one BAM offered? Seems like his career gone downhill since rejecting this offer. Thought he will achieve many more since he won the AllEngland - have only won 1 SS since then.
1st Semifinal in Maiden Superseries tournament for Adinata. Playing at the far court in G3 , thumping smashes looks easy for him and SK has got no answer. I think there are like 5 winners in half game. Has Ginting like skill as well with that body twist. the way he plays he looks like a gem in the making. I think this is his 5th match of the tournament, thought stamina could be a problem.
Today is the first time i saw him full match. I think i never been impressed since watching Taufik play. Ginting always has silky skills and fast but younger days and now, he hit many smashes to the net due to his height, didnt even remember if Adinata hit a net smash today. and dont need to talk about JC, he is just rally guy with six pack. Cant really smash due to his heavy built.
Ginting, Jonatan and Chico are no longer alone, Christian Adinata is coming to join them as new INA strong MS player…
Would like Adinata vs Prannoy tomorrow. Better to match up with higher ranked player. 6th match of the tour surely not. I think even match point down against Malaysia player in Qualifiers and had cramp as well. so much a Sea games title can do to ones mind and motivation..
Wth Ellis Smith got thumped 1-21 vs Thai pair after almost winning the match in G2. Lol. I remember 3, but dont think 1 point ever happens in SS tournament
Tunjung easily beat second-seeded WZY. She has improved a lot in 2023. Looking forward to watch her semifinal game against Sindhu. Could Tunjung repeat her performance like in the Spain Master 2023 final (vs. Sindhu)?
Nishimoto is arguably the least fun JPN player out there. Takes extremely long breaks between rallies, doesn't get ready on time needs the court to be wiped after every point, doesn't apologize for luck at the net. Don't know if it was just today or he's the complete opposite of what we see in most Japanese players. Well atleast his occasional attacks and quick dives made it bearable.
I watched this game. A lot of personal errors and weak defense against Jomkoh's smash. The Thai pair won the first 8 points in the third set. Then the shuttlecock was out for the lone one point. After that, Jomkoh and Paewsampran got the next 13 points. My guess: may be tired.
I expect GMT to win. Even if she doesn't win anything big (I hope she does), clearly one of the most improved player this year. Would love to know from any of her fans here, what is it that changed for her in the past couple of years? New coach, change in regime, personal life changes, go physically fitter etc But bullish on PVS's comeback, it's really slow paced at the moment and has her off days but she's showing glimpses of her former self. It'll be interesting to see how she performs in Asian Games, although I hope she gets lucky enough to avoid ASY or TTY til the SF
PBSI just appointed a new head coach for WS starting early march this year.....i think just after the INA team board the plane to european tours or so the name is Indra Wijaya.....50 years old or something.....ex pelatnas player.....some stints as singapore player or some other country not really successful internationally as a player i think....i have no idea his track record as a coach though GMT at that time seemed to welcome the news the new coach didn't accompany the team during the european tours but he must be grilling them right after it seems hopefully it really bears fruit long term coz INA WS has long been underwhelming....to put it mildly
I think Tunjung beliefs came when she beaten Yamaguchi in back to back tournaments last year. At that time , i think AY is WR1 or close to WR1 playing her best badminton. at that time, thats quite shocking result.
