gade trick-shot Hello All, I don't care if none of you believe me but I have pulled off that trick shot before. There is obviously NO contest in terms of context to the actual shot, but it really is easy to do once you get the hang of it. I must be honest though and tell you that I did mine during a doubles game.........and it is somewhat easier to pull off in an extended court (doubles lines). Here's an new one for you folks that I sometimes use for a bit of fun. Same idea, except when going to play a normal backhand, let it drop down and flick your hand straight down and hit it. So you are playing the shot from North and you trick and hit the shuttle at South. Have fun doing this new one!! TS
Are you referring to the one where he approaches the net with a backhand and then lets the shuttle drop below his wrist and then he hits it cross-court? I think this is one of the links: http://www.badmintontv.dk/klip/finter/finte2w_adsl.htm
Peter Gade Hi I´m from Austria, and i have found a video from peter gade: Here in austria it`s called "Netz Finte" Look at this: for IDSN http://www.badmintontv.dk/klip/finter/finte2w_isdn.htm for DSL http://www.badmintontv.dk/klip/finter/finte2w_adsl.htm CU Tom
why does peter gade have to make that shot so difficult? all he had to do was fake that straight net drop and then snap his wrist to the right at the last moment to do that cross court net drop.
i can't seem to c the video of this shot......... all i c is ppl working out wen i d/l the video........ can u guys give me the site for peter gade's crazy trick shot?

Actually that shot is pretty useless if you think about it, your opponent might be tricked the first time they see that shot but the second time they will know for sure because as soon as you let that shot drop below ur waist, you pretty much have no other choice of shot. So to think Peter actually spent time on that shot is not too smart. This is not one of those shots you can use in games, thats why Peter never did it again because is a one time deal.
how about if you fake that on your second attempt? make it look like you'll be doing that shot again, let it drop low and if you see your opponent anticipating it, hit it over backhand in front of you. you'll probably catch your opponent flat footed if executed properly no?
I don't think you have that much time. HAHA Look over and see where your opponent is then take it backhand again? By that time the bird has already hit the ground ten times probably. But anyway, if you can pull it off, it will still take some time and is probably better to spend those time working on fundamental skills and trick shots
hehe its possible man! you'll only be faking it anyway. just let the shuttle drop lower than you normally would take it with the same stance as the trick shot. add more deception by looking crosscourt as if analyzing the distance. i played with someone like this before, facing one end while returning the shuttle towards the other end of the net. very deceptive at first but you will get used to it if done too often. of course there are some complications like you wont be able to lift it high enough if your opponent rushes forward at you since the shuttle is already too low. anyway, just looking at possibilities in exploiting the trick shot if one can actually pull it off if you actually spent lots of time practicing the first trick shot, there very little to lose in doing more right? its all for fun anyway
Trick shots are good if you use them sparingly and strategically. Use them even less than your least favorite shot because it's inefficient, difficult to execute and so easy for other players to get used to them. All your opponent has to do is properly position himself and wait for that extra sec... for you to make your shot and he got you already. Also, the lower you take your shots the less options you have. IMO, it's better to learn how to change pacing of the game to disrupt your opponents' rhythm than master a few trick shots even though those shots are impressive when good.
