This is a shocking PAW games instead.. The rookies go on podium finish and beats many veterans, including Uncle Loh with the homeground advantages:eek:

:eek::eek: Now I know why we lost, as leader of WOW, I never observe my team members' performance before inviting them to join...I just invited them openly and they agreed to join...SIMPLE, huh?

I'm happy that you performed, otherwise......:D:p

What home ground advantage are you referring to?
Do you mean there are many notable Singapore world class players in the tournament? How many survived the QF?

Actually Singapore is a neutral ground for many players, not many top class players in the World Top 10, no biased umpires and officials, results are transparent and easily available with an up-to-date website, with live scores I presume. I did not test the live scores as I was watching at the tournament venue and I have little time even to consult BC.

In fact Singapore became a happy hunting ground for Malaysian players as it is nearer home and many of the top class players from especially China, Indonesia and Korea did not play. Instead, Singapore provided advantages closer to home for the Malaysians and they should be thankful for it. ;)

If you mean that, then everyone has no advantage as the results are available for all to see in this Singapore Open. In some tournaments, results are not easily available on the website or not at all and only those watching at the venue or over TV have the advantage of knowing the results.

Unless, like Hauge, he gets close to the players and size them up before deciding whether to pick them or not. In that sense he has intimate knowledge of the players and that would be more than so-called home ground advantage. Knowledge like whether the player is feeling well or hiding an injury, etc.

In the case of the PAW, luck plays an important part. It is not unusual to learn that a PAWer who knows nothing about many of the players, but just pick them basing on the results or nothing and win. Quite a few first-timers like yourself have won the PAW, and I don't think you can claim you know the players well, that's why you won. You happen to have more luck than others for this PAW. :)
