POLYTRON INDONESIA OPEN (02-06-2026 TO 07-06-2026)

It is unfortunate that her path to the final has ASY in between, otherwise, with her current form, she may reach SF, at most, cos there are WZY, Ay and CYF, the big 4.

She has many apparent weaknesses compared to many top players. Her footwork is abysmal, so is her backhand. The fact that she could achieve some really big titles in her career is itself a very big surprise to me. There are couple of areas where she is strong. She is mentally super tough and her smashes are really good. With these 2 little things she has managed to achieve some titles.

Retirements galore..

SatChi retired with reddy having a sore shoulder. Daily thinking of Chirag and his super human effort to win us SF single handedly against the worlds best. I am in awe. He literally played mixed doubles to win us that game. Immense respect for Chirag. 🖖🖖🖖🖖

Really good win by Kusuma/PuspitaSari. At least you need to be able to beat the Taiwanese girls, coupled with Siti win over Korea no.1 yesterday. They are there but no there yet. I guess soon they will be seeded. I see 3 good, fighting pairs in the WD and its weird to say, but their prospects for a medal in OG/even WC is brighter than Indonesia MD - Perhaps because i find them younger. Now coupled with Pearly Injury.

Of course, I also feel Malaysia is dealt with big blow with 3 of their best players injuries (Man Wei Chong, Toh Ee Wei, & Pearly). I likely see at least 2 of these 3 injuries are Long Term. How good is Malaysia MD though when all is fit!

CTC with his shadow celebrations. I dont know if he always does it in other tournaments but it only looks good in IndonesiaOpen surely lol.

AaronChia/ SohWY gets blown away by Youth and Exuberance. Honestly cant remember when ChiaSoh got dispatched convincingly like that. 14 and 14 in MD - Thats a Clinic.

Thats a reminiscent of Minions matches.

It happens once in a while. They still are a very good pair. Remember minions got blown away 21-3 by EndoWata, and very recently Liang/Wang got blown away by FiFa 21-4 or something. All these things happen because of the nature of MD. FiFa too got blown away in the first round itself under 14, if i remember correctly.

Wang zhiyi lost in R16 to korean Sim yu jin.
I wonder what happened to Han Yue.

Sim yu jin always beats wang zhi yi, its not really surprising anymore at this point if u look at their h2h. I know han yue withdrew before the tournament even started, like way before, not sure why, maybe needed personal time off or something.

Putri Kusuma Wardani's overall record against the current BWF Top 5 women's singles players stands at a staggering 0–24.
Despite being ranked World No. 6, she has yet to secure a single win against any of these elite opponents. Such a record is difficult to overlook and raises questions about whether her ranking truly reflects her competitiveness at the highest level. To be considered a genuine top-tier player, she must start turning these encounters into victories rather than consistently falling short against the sport's elite.

I think Raymond Indra & Nikolaus Joaquin are off form today. Especially Raymond Indra made so many mistakes. Hopefully they can get the act together.

Thats the Gutsy win you need to experience throughout your career. Bravo Indra/Joaquin

And if they face SabarReza then thats basically AsianGames H2H for the 2nd spot imo

Not a Typical Chen Boyang/ Liu Yi performance. Whats with this careful exaggeration plays and liftings.

This Pan guy , i have seen him often. Just like LinCY, he has one of the best smashes in the game. And he can keep doing it non stop.

So menacing and dangerous. If he wins, most likely he is going to play his 4th Final of the Year.

Panitchapon has really improved this year. His playing style looks suitable for the new 15 point scoring system also
