Hi everyone I live in the northern suburbs in Dianella WA, and just looking to play some badminton around my area. I've recently moved here from South Perth and I used to play on Fri nights at victoria park and sunday afternoon at Rossmoyne SHS although now it is a bit too far to travel all that way. I haven't played for a while now since my first child was born, but now I am looking to get back into it. I may be a little rusty since I haven't played regularly for a long while. I'm just looking to play for a little fun, not really into comps prob not good enough for them Anybody know of any places that I can play in my area would be great Thanks

Hi Generations26, You've moved to quite a convenient location when it comes to close proximity for playing badminton. There's badminton on at Light St on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. I am a co-organiser of the club playing on Monday night. Wednesday night is organised by another club and Friday night is a separate club once again, but quite a few of the Monday night people play on Friday night also. There's also a badminton club on Friday night at Morley Recreation centre located on Wellington Street. There's also badminton play available at Herb Graham on Friday nights in Mirrabooka where you pay $4, and you can basically play until they close. So yeah, lucky for you, plenty of options available.
Kingsway isn't all that flash anymore since it has been re-possessed by the shire. I've never been there myself as I consider it a bit of a hike also and they close relatively early by comparison.
You're welcome. For Light St, Monday night is 7.30 start til 11pm and beyond or when we're all buggered, whichever comes first. I believe it's the same for Wednesday night. Friday night is 8pm start. Morley Rec is 7.30 to 9.30 on Friday nights.
' i heard they made it a multi-purpose hall. meaning the badminton court is infested with lines from other sports.
The last time I tried booking, they turned it into an ice skating rink so who knows what else they do with it now...
Sorry, I haven't been able to yet. I tore a muscle in my right shoulder at work around the same time I was going to play. After a few op'erations and a year and a half later, hasn't fixed the problem. Been very hard to type... Very late reply
