Actually, it was another person who wasn't shy of wearing a suit or starched shirt, either. Would you believe Frank Zappa?
I think it's : It's always darkest just before dawn. And here's another one : The light at the end of the tunnel is not the end of the tunnel, but the light of another train heading towards you.
"In expert tennis, 80% of the points are won, while in amateur tennis, 80% are lost. The same is true for wrestling, chess, and investing: Beginners should focus on avoiding mistakes, experts on making great moves." - Erik Falkenstein
It is darkest before it's totally black . I thought it's already totally black when it's the darkest. Why/what is meant by saying "It is darkest before it's totally black" ? .
Just my opinion, what it probably means you will be at the lowest before you died. Perhaps in badminton concept, it will be you will be clinging onto the last glimmer of hope until the very last point which set your "death sentence." Correct me if I'm wrong.
It is darkest before it's totally black . I don't like that quotation. Why? Because it's a negative one. I prefer the more positive ones, like; Never say die (Do not give up, not even at the lowest glimmer of hope). .
I found the quote at BrainQuotes.. http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/chairman_mao.html But I think it maybe a mockery by an American politician against Chairman Mao. http://firedoglake.com/2009/10/16/john-mccain-loves-to-quote-mao-zedong/#
BadmintonCentral forbids any talks about politics . We better stop talking about this quotation; "It is darkest before it's totally black". Why? Because BadmintonCentral forbids any talks about politics. .
"If it's worth doing, just do it; even though done badly" . I heard this quotation today - "If it's worth doing, just do it; even though done badly". I thought it's an awesome quotation; therefore I'm posting it here before I forget it. .
That day i visited my classmate colleague who is terminally ill. We had a long conversation and i remembered of what he said to me: " The greatest wealth is your health and the greatest love is the love to your god and family. None of this can be bought regardless of how rich you are." He is 44 y.o old wealthy businessmen and died 2 month before raya due to a stage 4 lung cancer.
More on feelings than thoughts . IMHO, our feelings govern everything:- How we think, and/or what we do, is dependent on our feelings. Some examples I can think of, are:- * When there is a baby born, we feel happy. Positive thoughts come to our minds. We tend to be active, often doing something good. * When there is a death, we feel sad. Our thoughts become depressed, often not doing anything, until we feel better again. * When one donates fund to a charity organisation, the giver is the happier person (happier than the fund receiver). * When one is greedy, he/she would just think of him/herself. No regards is given to others. * When one is sad, he/she would usually becomes inactive; often keeping/staying in a low profile (until feeling better later). * When one is uncomfortable (like when being pushed into a corner), he/she would struggle to get out of it (doing something to get some relief). The action could be either good or bad. * When one is angry, he/she would be triggered to do something too (usually doing something bad). Negative thoughts usually comes to his/her mind. * When one is happy, he/she would be triggered to do something good. Positive thoughts usually comes to his/her mind. * When one feels jealousy, he/she would often be triggered to do something bad. Negative thoughts usually come to his/her mind. * etc, etc, ...... Sometimes, we are better being like babies again; Cry, when feeling uncomfortable, stay relaxed/calm when comfortable. Anything like wealth, assets, monies, power, fame, popularity, etc, etc, ...... won't bear any importance at all. Unfortunately, many of us have been taught (as we are growing up) that wealth, assets, monies, power, fame, popularity, etc, are the good things to be achieved in life. .
I think thoughts affect feelings (and vice versa). This is how I see it. http://www.michaelgrandner.com/pages/clinical-theoreticalorientation.html Note that "Situation" (or the outside world) affects our thoughts directly. PS: please ignore the shoe
It's the feel . LOL. I like the shoe. Yes, if our shoes make our feet feel better, then we run and/or walk better in them. It's the feel. When we think our shoes are good looking, we begin to feel better (feet looking-wise). But, many nice-looking shoes aren't comfortable to wear. The thought is just signalling a false feeling. .
