For me, I hate to watch sports that are largely subject to the umpires and judges in awarding the points with no recourse to technology to arbitrate any dispute. In such sports like boxing, gymnastics, diving, synchronized swimming, they are quite easily open to bias and unfair umpiring and judging, even outright outrageous incidents aren't as uncommonly seen as we thought. Already in the 5th day of the Olympics, there have been a number of scandalous cases. Just for CHN athletes alone, I read that a male boxer, a female gymnast were robbed of their victories by blatantly biased judging. Even in sports where the points awarded should be rather clear-cut, as in fencing and beach volleyball, the umpiring can be atrocious, as happened to a CHN female fencer and the CHN women's beach volleyball team. I earnestly hope the IOC do its utmost to prevent the Olympic Games and the Olympic Spirit from being marred by unfair judging.
Wow....what a match Round of 16 Germany's archer Florian Floto defeated Malaysia's Mohamed Anuar Khairul coming back from 0-2 sets down to clinch the match 3-2. Last set was incredible , Germany's 10-10-10 vs Malaysia's 9-10-10.................30 - 29 in favour of German archer.
Argentinian women hockey team's clear opening goal was first unfairly reviewed and then shamelessly disallowed against United States of America.
Wow, CHN table tennis superstar WS Li Xiaoxia is as strong as ever, she simply demolished JPN Ai Fukuhara in 4 straight sets in commanding fashion, 11-4,11-3,11-1,and 11-1. LXX looks good for gold again whoever she plays in the final, but this time I'm rooting for Ding Ning who's next up against DPRK Kim Song I in the other semifinal.

Ding Ning having to deal with two strong defenders in succession, Han Ying yesterday, and now Kim Song I, is a test of her stamina. After beating Han Ying, the chopper, in the QFs, Ding Ning complained that her arm was sore. I'm sure she'd rather play another fast attacker than engaged two slow defenders in long, multiple rallies that are energy-sapping. Talk about luck of the draw.
Ding Ning had better try to finish it in 5 sets or she will start the final tomorrow against her compatriot Li Xiaoxia at a slight disadvantage with aching arm. Have to go for acupuncture and massage with plenty of rest.
Talking about choppers, the Korean Joo Sae Hyuk is my favourite, now already 36 years old, not playing here. His defensive style is just amazing to watch, all those near-impossible shots and returns, almost out of this world.
Look at Kim S I, the North Korean girl, that's how she frustrated and drained the Singapore girl, Yu Meng Yu, in the QFs.
Ding Ning is alert to Kim's occasional fast counterattacking shots , something which the SIN Yu Meng Yu struggled against as she was caught out time and again.
DN is feeling the strain now, more exhausting for her, the one attacking and doing most of the top spins than her defensive opponent who bides her time to counterattack, can be quite demanding on her too.
It's critical for Ding Ning to take the 5th set and close out the match as her energy level is down to about 60 percent , I think.
