Naw, I already asked, they said I'd have to play straight up. A few months back they said +3 was OK but now, zero. :p

Don't give in to Robert so easily, he just wants to take advantage of everyone by giving them rediculous handicap points. Robert always gives himself +points and gives everyone -points.
Be persistant in asking for the +8 points, especially if you play against Chris or Basu.:)

Did you get a chance to upload the gunawan/bach vs cai/fu yet? I'm waiting for that video too.:)

    Meeting up

Anyone that goes here wana meet someone new?

I'm better than most begginers and probably not as good as most intermediates. It'd be cool if someone could school me and make my game uber. Any takers?

    ,.........

i assume...most people who go and play at the club are asians? muh point is badminton is still regarded as a lame sport by many people outside of asia.. most of muh frends say that.. thats sad becoz they haven;t seen how 'real players' play badminton ....

Guys remember badminton is like soccer/football in America! Many other countires live and die by the sport! I am not Asian and love Badminton, did I get teased in school for playing( Yes!) Did I still play soccer, volleyball, baseball and football( Yes) . In my Twenties I enjoyed golf, great sport for friendly people! I worked hard to lower my handicap to a 6. But badminton was calling me last year! So I jumped on the horse after 17 years of not picking up a racket, It was hard and not easy! I enjoyed seeing an new environment at SGVBC, I will play there 1 time a week, maybe more! The club I am at is stale sometimes, I want to play matches! I may loose alot, but will gane valuable experience! Come on down and try this nice club out!

Never went by myself, but i'm sure you could find someone. You could always find someone on here. I'd be down, Private msg me or one of the other guy's that posted here. I'd suggest monday or tuesday night there are less people there. Also I'd go early like 5 or 6 pm, there's people there but it's not crowded.

I'm at SGVBC just about every day. There's a wide variety of players from beginner to advanced. The beginners usually play in the "back", four courts. Also training is in the back. Court # 1 and Center Court are usually for the more advanced players while the courts to the "right", four courts, are for the intermediate players. There's not written rule, that's just how it's migrated. :)

People there friendly. But if you don't know anyone, it could seem rather uninviting because most people know each other and are cliquey. The good news is, even if you are new there, if you are pleasant and ask to play, people will do so...it's all about presentation. :)

Actually, Monday is Pot Night (so is Thursday) so Center Court and Court # 1 are usually crowded with players and spectators. This pushes over to the other courts.

    ok

ok so is anyone goin tommrow (Tuesday March 28th, 2006) If so, what time? Im looking to get there at around 7 (i can leave at about 5:00 and accordin to mapquest its a 55 minute drive but its on the I5 at rush hour so probably 2 hours) and was wonderin if anyone would want to meet up and play that way i wouldnt be so uncomfortable :p or if anyone is down on wensday or thursday leme know.

My skill level is about intermediate i guess. Ive been playing it in HS for the last 2 years so ive developed some sort of skill but i feel that since i havnt had proper coaching and just playin and learnin all the shots and what to do im still good begineer/subpar intermediate. ;)

if you want to meet up pm me, id be hecka down !
