    Expected a lot from him after the team events. Was very dissapointing to see him and AP go down in straights, moreover him and Chirag loosing to a scratch pairing

    @badmuse @Baddie lover

    Is there any news regarding Satwiksairaj? His last played tournament is 2018 Syed Modi Open and Satwik/Chirag & Satwik/Ashwini had withdrawn from German Open and also All England. Previously he had also withdrawn from Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Masters [data sources].

    He wasn't registered at Swiss Open when Manu/Attri and another 3 IND MD pairs were registered. Even Chirag will play with Pranav as a scratch pair in Swiss Open through qualification round.

    And he said something "You may see me struggle but u never see me quit." in his tweeter on January 6, 2019.

    I've seen his instastory where he mentioned he was injured that's why he was not able to play those tournaments. Chirag reposted it. Hope to see him back soon. :)

    Satwik Rankireddy had a shoulder injury and a hairline fracture on his chest. He has recovered from his injuries and is concentrating on becoming match fit for the Olympic Qualification tournaments. Satwik will play New Zealand WTS 300 the first Olympic Qualification tournament and no tournament before that.

    The INA coaches told Satwik Rankireddy to get his fitness levels up before starting on court training. This will ensure he doesn't get injured as he looks to become match fit. We should have low expectations of his performance at the Sudirman Cup. He may need a couple of months to find his rhythm and regain match fitness.

    An epic campaign they had in Thailand towards their biggest win. They had to first overcome their own teammates, then INA Alfian/Ardianto, then 2 KOR pairs Choi/Seo and the resurgent Ko/Shin, and finally the top CHN pair Li/Liu in a battle of the giants of epic proportions.

    Rankireddy has the physicality to out gun Li in the smash dept and the finesse to out push Liu in placement shots. Shetty has a consistently dependably excellent serve, almost like Kevin Sanjaya's, so they usually can get quick points by playing strong in the first 3 shots, kinda like Boe/Mo used to. He being the natural front court player was fast in interceptions and was able to maintain his speed without as much errors as in the past.

    One thing I question about their defence is being such tall players they really should avoid their preferred squat defence... many times they were caught in a tangle when the shot was coming down at their knees.

    But this pair looks like they could go far as they gain more match experience and confidence and cut down on their nerves.

    i agree. the game is too fast for squatting to be effective for tall players when under constant pressure. on the plus side their habit of having their rackets up makes squatting usable for the time being.

    you don't want to throw too many changes at players too soon. i think (hope) in time coach limpele will transition them out of it.

    it appears to be an instinctual reaction right now. i suppose we'll have to wait and see if its usage eventually diminishes.
