Yesterday, i was watching the XD and the prize given was only $7000 something!!! How come $7000 for an All-England winner XD prize money only!!! Each one will get half of it, so only $3500 for all the sweating and efforts until the finals!!! Such a ridiculously low amount of money for this kind of event!!! Prize money for men and women singles, MD, WD was how much???
its US$7,625.. AE is a 4star tourney with total prize of US$125,000.. the lowest winner's pay cheque is in XD and WD, getting 6.1% of total prize. the MS winner gets $10,000 or 8% of total prize.. a pathetic sum comparing to tennis???
Yeah that is pretty pathetic amount of money , its probably due to the lack of coverage the sport gets. I mean I live in Australia and the TV networks spend hours showing cricket and I dont mind it if I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else to do but compared to badminton the skill the pace and basically everything about it badminton is sooo much better. Personally I think they should promote the sport in the US more or more aggressively, and maybe then the TV networks here will copy them like they usually do But yeah I totally agree Baddy players get paid peanuts
