Haha, what a sacrifice! Hope the haze has not enveloped the hall.

Now watch the WD. The Chinese team looks like two teenage boys playing together.

Yes, quite common with China. Don't know why they go for that look.

Uncle,i didn't said GP Tournaments are weaker.I was just pointing out to your statement that Powerhouses China and Japan have less or No representatives today.I just wanted to say that when they will field their top star shuttlers,it will be difficult for today's finalists to repeat their achievement.

For sure,LXY win will give a major and much needed boost to 'Tiny' Singapore.I hope she wins today, doesn't get affected by SJH profile and continue to mix up her game just like she did against Rat.

That was also a surprise to us, although we know LXY can perform when in good form.

I hope KKK will play more seriously and not resort to his "tricks" that often kill his own team.

He had some tricks yesterday, but managed to win! Was fun to watch as usual.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Indeed the powerhouses will field their strongest teams in the highest level events. GPG level standard players will have no chance. But from time to time, primarily to accumulate precious points, top-level SS players can be found competing at lower levels, Sung JH, and RI being two of them here.

This being a GPG, I would expect the powerhouses to field their strongest team at this appropriate level, such as INA, as part of the grooming process. They have many more talents who can beat the weaker countries most times than not.

The ongoing WD match between CHN and KOR looks well-balanced although CHN was fiercer in attack.

But with the encouragement from the vocal Thai crowd the Korean girls went on an attacking spree to score a point. The score now stands at 11-10 for CHN at the interval. Both teams won a game each KOR 22-20, CHN 21-11.

CHN is heading for home 19-15 and it is precious since this is the only event that CHN can hope to win.

"And they walked away with the title"... said the commentator, that is the Chinese, after Korea lost a few points hitting out and China's attacks hit the mark.

So much for praising the new WD pair!! The Koreans lost in the end anyway.

Oh congratulations to Huang Dongping / Li Yinhui for winning the WD match over Chang Ye Na / Lee So Hee. this is indeed a very good achievement considering that the China WD is a newly formed youngsters. Korea on the other hand field in a newly formed pair too nut both are already senior players and are highly ranked with their previous partner. The result itself also proves that China is till the powerhouse in WD as any pair can win regardless of who they are paired up with. Korea on the other hand still have a long way to go. Anyway congratulations to Chang Ye Na / Lee So Hee too for winning the silver medal today. Both the Korean WD did a good job today. I am so proud of both of you for entering the finals today. :)

So as a conclusion Korea won a silver medal in WD today. The question is now can Korea win 3 gold medals for the next upcoming matches?

Of late RI's form is indifferent and seemingly plagued by fitness problem, nonetheless it was a very encouraging and confidence-boosting victory for the young Liang Xiaoyu.

I'd expect the fitter and much taller Sung Ji Hyun to be a tricky proposition but I'd be rooting for Liang Xiaoyu. Go for it, Xiaoyu!

Now our nervous girl, LXY, is in the centre of attraction.

SJH is WR7 and is more than 100 ranks above LXY, that's why apart from this is the first GPG final for LXY.

For a start LXY has to be careful of her lifts bearing in mind Sung's height.

Hope LXY is regaining her composure as she is already 7-3 down.

It was revealed that SJH wore a lead vest in training to improve her fitness.
