Explain something to me - look at the match between Ginting and Popov - especially Popov.

They look so fast and furious.

But we know that the top 10 players are faster. Then why when we watch the top players play against each other it doesn't look that fast and furious?

It looks fast yes but they don't look like they are just rushing like crazy.

Why is that? Is it because of shot quality? Is it due to strategy? Is it a case of lower players are pushing to the max each match?

Footwork efficiency. They can move faster without it looking like they are putting more energy into it. Even when they are pushing the pace, if they are not particularly tired, it won't look that different from if they are playing at a slower pace. With us amateurs, our footwork is not as efficient. When we want to go faster and give more energy, it's much more visible from our movement that we are putting in the extra effort.

Already, I could sense change of guard in MS . So many players are in the brink of retirements. Young players started to win tournaments. Coming Paris, it would be a new winner in the Olympics podium. Popov brothers cant be neglected. They are so fierce. All the current Top players reach 30 at that time. These young guns will be at their peak period.
We would be able to see correct position of MS next year.

yeah. Popov, Vittidsarn, Sen. I think 1 of Momota/Axelsen will still be Medal winners (just like CL)

Top players like Sindhu, Intanon (game 1 scare though), Astrup-Rasmussen are advanced, nice to see.

Yet to see the match but congrats Christo Popov, he’s a promising player. Ginting, I hope it’s not because of his waist problem.

Congrats Hoki-Kobayashi, great play. About Hoki’s scream, imagine if he plays against Yang Pohan. :D

It’s sad that Ahsan got injured again. They still have what it takes but unfortunately their physical form are currently not on point. Speedy recovery, rest well for the BWC, The Daddies.

And Yeremia’s wish came true. LeoNiel couldn’t catch up to their WTF point now. Good to see that FajRi won, although I like LeoNiel. Because people already labeled them ‘allergic to their own compatriots’ although before the pandemic, people labeled them ‘only fired up when they fight their own brothers’.

I was curious to see how’s PraMel going, will there be any improvement to their communication but their opponent were retired.

I wish . But no streaming. Randomly saw the visual score. All the courts finished their games at the same time.

Ginting made so many mistakes. But loss is a loss. Popov attacked everything. Ginting could not defend all the time.

I see. Lately he's so error prone. R32 lost two times in a row (at INA as well), that's heavy.

For court 3 matches, you can try instagram and look for "badminton.ina" account. Sometimes, they stream the matches on court 3 live.
I was able to catch the earlier yuta/arisa match on the instagram live stream here.

he will trade that for TC glory. I think he is the face. But he cant keep losing in R1. was it like 3 R1 exits? Thats more than enough.

Weird to say but after Axelsen , i think its Ginting that has the most influential or meaningful year this year for MS.

Lets see how he performs in WC. Maybe he can pop up with shock medal again.

Slow shuttle, many "smashing and fast players" like Ginting, Lee Zii Jia, Viktor, Watanabe, Wang Chi Lin, Jordan, Sindhu, ... will find it hard.

In contrary, Momota, Kunlavut, An Se Young, Yamaguchi,... will get advantidge

I will not surprise if later Viktor will lost to Koki Watanabe
