When I opened a pack of Cyber Natural 100, it smelled very bad like some sort of chemcial for preserving dead stuffs. Has anyone noticed this smell?

I asked about cyber natural 100 when i first saw it at a pro shop. The shop owner said it was all natural material so I'm betting it's some sort os animal sinew. Also don't get it wet or it gets damaged.

Don't know what it is, man... If it's any help, ask Speed78 where she got the string from. I got it from her so I won't know.

I got the string from Shuttle-house (Oosaka, Japan) last year, for sure it isn't
fake.....try to spray something like CK-ONE on it then you'll have a fragrant smell!:D

I just sniffed my two bags of CBG100. I don't smell anything though :)

Got them from Winsor Racquets from Japan a year ago.

    PeteLSD,

You could be right about the smell being formaldehyde when we last spoke over the phone. The string is probably pretty old. We'll see how it performs later, I wanna inspect it first and give it a day or two before using it.

You called PeteLSD in HK all the way from Canada just to talk about string odour? If this is not an exemplary example of dedication to badminton, I don't know what is. :D

Heh! Actually PeteLSD resides in Vancouver but periodically go back to HK and China for business:p. Make no mistake. We are keen badders but baddy doesn't justify long distance chat. On the other hand, family and girlfriends do:rolleyes:...

That would be the ideal job for me, so I can pick up the latest model racquets (amongst other things).

    Girlfriends huh!!

    BG-65 Too!

When I opened a pack of BG-65 last night (got it from Tad's three weeks ago), a similar odour came to my attention. The intensity of the smell isn't as strong as the last time though. I really wonder if this smell is formaldehyde.

Was it an old stock string or a new one? :)

Maybe the new ones has stronger smell because it's still fresh :p
