Just wondering about this, there is a 2 weeks break before the world championship for the players to prepare, and then there is a 3 weeks break after it so in 6 weeks time, i probably only watched one tournament.

then starting from Week 36, there is a GP or even bigger game every week until the year end.... thats at least what i learn from bwf website.

36 taiwan GPG
37 china SS
38 japan SS
39 indonesia GPG
39 russian GP
40 London GPG
41 dutch GP
42 denmark SSP
43 french SS
44 bitburger GPG
45 korean GPG
46 china SSP
47 hong kong SS
48 macau GPG
49 vietname GP
50 SSF

and oh, its Christmas!

isnt it a bit too pack?

i am guessing that none of the pros will be participating in every tournament?
well, usually one can only be fit for 3 tournaments consecutively, and hardly anyone can be top performance for all 3.

but the thing is, give so much of breaks now, why not pushing some of the competitions earlier, so that at least the players can have more time in traveling and planning their schedule?

maybe the arenas aren't just set up to cater badminton tournaments but other sporting events, and other sporting events have certain set dates so the organizers decided not to disturb the schedule by shifting tournament dates around?

Yup, it's hectic schedule after August.
Btw, Vietnam Open Grand Prix schedule will be shifted to December (02-08 Dec) : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=14590
yes, week 49 as i indicate there.

the thing i dont understand is sometimes, the schedule is really quite a mess, taking the most significant example, week 39, which we have Indonesia GPG and russian GP concurrently. Furthermore, Czech IC is also on the same week. taking into consideration that there are SS events on week 37 and 38, and an SSP coming up on week 42, we can assume that the top players wont be joining the events. so we have 3 competitions targeting at similar group of players held within the same week.
