3-0 or 3-2 for china, just don't see any way for Korea to take it... MS and WS will be a lock as most ppl state and if they decide to field LYD for both the MD and XD, no matter how physically fit he is, I don't see him being effective in the second event....

i think the lineup won't change as much...but i do think Yu Yang won't play both WD and XD...maybe Zheng/Ma will play mixed...if not...Zhang Yawen should play doubles from her experience...although i don't know if she or any partner could beat the koreans...singles could be a suprise result if park sung hwan plays well...he didn't get the result against sony, but he could prove people wrong...he did play too defensively today and i think LD will beat him easily if he plays the same way..MD will be tough to say..but i think it'll be an awesome one to watch...i'm in row 3 AA xD!! it's gunna be AWESOME!!!

I'll support Korea tonight for the sake of spreading the trophies around a bit...

    MS: Lin Dan will win.
MD: Jae Sung and man eater Yong Dae will win
WS: 50-50. Yihan has the edge.
    WD: 50-50.
XD: Man eater Yong Dae will win again :D

If Korea manages to win this, they must 'Datuk-ise' Yong Dae (lol)

10 Reasons Why I am Cheering for Korea

    10) Love that never say die KOR spirit
    9) To show that 3 Doubles wins can overcome 2 Singles losses
    8) Silence the home crowd
    7) "Little" Victor can topple the "Giant" Li Ning
    6) Kimchi is spicier than Sichuan
    5) To see Li Mao crack a satisfying smile as the winning point is secured
    4) To prove that Lee Hyo Jung can indeed hang with the big dogs
    3) Lee Yong Dae can play and win 2 matches
    2) Hwang Hye Youn (need I say more)
    1) My PAW :D

CHN vs KOR -- likely lineup:
XD: Zheng Bo/Ma Jin vs Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung -- CHN will field Zheng/Ma for 2 reasons: first is to save Yu Yang's energy for the crucial WD and simply because it's Zheng/Ma who have the upperhand against Lee/Lee. I don't think He/Yu had beaten Lee/Lee in their previous few encounters  Even if CHN loses this pt, they can still secure the victory with a fresher Yu Yang.

MS: Lin Dan vs Park Sung Hwan -- there's no way Lin Dan is going to let Park humiliate him again in front of the home-crowds.

WS: Wang Yihan vs Hwang Hye Youn -- Wang is the clear favorite. if WS is played first, then, it's pretty likely CHN will win 3-0.

MD: Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun vs Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae -- now, if the pts are split at 2-1, this is the only pt that CHN can afford to lose also, and one that KOR desperately needs to win.

WD: Du Jing/Yu Yang vs Lee Kying Won/Lee Hyo Jung -- if the scoreline is 2-2, then, this will be hell of a cracker. The CHN pair has a slight advantage, but if KOR plays tactically like in the AE 2008, they might yet steal a win. Nevertheless, I think Du/Yu are the favorites.

Overall, CHN can wrap up the tie pretty early (3-0), if they win the XD. If they lose in XD (and maybe MD), then, they will wake it 3-2.

    That's a possibility..

..the only strong possibility of that happening, a sweep, is if the order of play has:
    1. The 2 Singles events play before the 4th event.
    2. The WD is played as the 1st event, as it is perhaps KOR's weakest doubles event. IMO, KOR's XD has a better chance than their WD.
..i'd say with Yihan having the edge, it'll be more than a 50-50 chance.
That's the likeliest order of play as LYD and LHJ will need some time to rest.
..it's indeed a bit of a head scratcher..What happened with HHB??..Where did you get the early news??..

    ...and i'm already yawning...:(

Zheng Bo is much more effective in his offensive play than He Han Bin!!
    Great decision!!! :D
WYH vs HHY 85-15 chance IMO.
Since LHJ play quite well yesterday, it's time for her to play with amazing amount of errors today, as she is is so inconsistent ;)

    Lucky you..

I doubt PSH will make much of a difference, even if he plays well..

Btw, you should meet up with 2 other BCers, abedeng & copadh. They are there watching the tourney,;try PM-ing them and have a mini get-together.:)

As for the cheering squad in Guangzhou, i was thinking, since their teams are out, perhaps all of the INA and MAS (and maybe Danish) supporters can come back and help lend their support to the KOR supporters..It'll be all the "Jia Yous" going against "Dae Han Min Guk!(clap clap clap clap clap)..

The start time does not sit well with us on the west coast - 4am. I'll have to set my alarm to "grenade explosion" to get me up

Thinking about the XD combination again, I guess LYB doesn't want to leave anything to chance, pulling the senior players from each pair to form a "super pair"

I think so far till today, nobody can go against China in group tournament. Their team are so balanced and strong. Hard to win them. Nevertheless, Korea vs China should be an interesting one. Seeing yesterday's men's double where KKK/TBH managed to put up a good fight against CY/FHF, I guess Lee/Jung will get a point for Korea here.

Letz just wait and see wether Korea can triump China. =P

Who determines the order of play? Is there a system or do the organizers have the last say?
