Even though today Group 1 matches only playing for position, it will still be hot.

2 years ago, KOR is runner up, INA and MAS are semifinalists.

This year, MAS is a lot weaker than 2 years ago(especially women side). INA, without Natsir also a lot weaker. KOR, after the retirement of one half of their Olympic Gold medalist is also rather weak in WD and XD.

While I think position of group is important to avoid China, it is also important to keep the players ready and fit for QF. Topping the group but drawing JPN or either KOR/DEN will not be easy.

I think will be a closely contested matches between Malaysia vs Indonesia. I don't think Indonesia will win as besides Chong Wei(MS) and KKK/TBH(MD), there are no world beater in WS, XD and WD which I don't think team Indonesia has that much advantage?

Base on head to head and everything, INA should win the WD,WS, and XD too. CPS/GLY and WPT/CEH have a terrible H2H against Fran/Pia(Fran/Pia 4-1 CPS/GLY) and Greysia/Meiliana(Grey/Mel 4-0 WPT/CEH). I predict INA to win either 3-2 or 4-1.

Lin Dan got through by the skin of his teeth against Sho Sasaki 22-20, 21-19 who led most of the time in the 1st game and he matched Lin Dan also most of the time in the 2nd game. LD is no longer the player he was when he could toy with his opponents and won easily. SS also showed that he is now the best Japanese MS player with his consistent good performances recently.
The Thai woman’s player Ratchanok Inthanon played well again to beat the gutsy Taiwanese Cheng Shao Chieh 21-9, 21-17 and she could rise in the world rankings soon and be a threat to the Chinese.

Pretty sure it makes no difference who INA fields in WS. Unless yoyo-ism kicks in, which is very possible.

    INA v MAS - it'll be a 3-2 scoreline to either
DEN v KOR - either 3-2 or 4-1 to DEN

maybe he is too busy with his part-time job, thus lack of time for training.

I wouldn't bet on this. Those guys can't play seriously. Putting on silly smiles when they lose a point, and generally losing games when they're already way up on points for some reason. :( Malaysia will lose 1-4. Only the Datuk can confidently supply a point.

As I mentioned before, LD will be different and will not dominate when his peak time..He still plays well but not as good as in 2008/2009.
The players should not be afraid of LD and China is afraid to lose a point so LD will play mostly during Sudirman Cup.
I have mentioned before that LD was planning to retire after Olympic but CBA still asked him to play as their players are not ready yet and I believe CBA allows LD more spare time to do other things..basically LD is like TH now..LD will venture more in business..

MAS VS INA.....INA should win...our certain point will come from LCW...but not 100% certain...
KKK/TBH only slight advantage...the rest INA having the edge...anyway hope MAS give a good fight
esp. in XD, WS and WD....these 3 events need to get prepared as the real challenge start from QF...
where our XD, WS and WD will be our main weaknesses again if we face any countries in QF....

    Malaysia BOLEH...!!!
    LCW vs Simon: 80-20
KKK/TBH vs INA MD: 50-50 (depends on MAS MD's mood)
MAS WS vs INA WS: 20-80
MAS WD vs INA WD: 40-60
MAS XD vs INA XD: 45-55

The crucial point is the XD... whoever wins the XD match has the huge advantage... BOLEH?

Maybe danielwong wants to arrange his work, travel and dinner time.
For me, my baddy session is between 6 to 8 and I want to watch the exciting XD & MS.
