It is CONFIRMED that one of the french player shas tested Positive for Covid This morning itself and because both of them are room mates in the same hotel the have both withdrawn as a precautionary measure ! I hope they recover soon and wish them all the best for their future tournaments.

The men’s singles final of the Syed Modi India International 2022 has been declared a 'No Match'.

BWF can confirm one of the finalists tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.

The other finalist is deemed a close contact and has also been withdrawn.

Details on winner status, world ranking points and prize money will be revealed in due course.

Today’s other four finals will go ahead as scheduled.

One way traffic atmosphere for almost all finals, MD is quite balanced but still MAS duo are more compact and better in fast and furious game than their opponent.
Pusarla Sindhu ends title drough at home soil, the last time the richest woman badminton player celebrated victory was 2019 World Championships in Basel. As her coach Park Tae Sang had said,

Well, there goes the tournament. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to watch all the matches.
Nice one considering the amount of withdrawals and pandemic raging.

My takeaways (I'm no expert):
- good prospects in WS. - Anupama Upadhyaya- 16 years old, great physical conditions, good wrist. Not technically set up yet - very strange footwork.I wonder where is she in 3 years.

Malvika Bansod, Aakarshi Kashyap - 20 year olds with good potential (the next 2 years will be crucial for their careers, given the pandemic).
Aakarshi - I am a fan of her bee socks

Unfortunately I didn't see much in the men's categories.

As my home tournament Im the happiest to finally have my beloved sport being played in my city Also Id like to thank to all our respected guests and players who came to my city during these tough times and gave their best despite all the regulations and entertained us badminton fans.

Should any of our respected guests and players encountered any discomfort or subject of displeasure then as a citizen of Lucknow I ask for forgiveness with joined hands and I hope we will see you back in Syed Modi 2023 and may be next year I'd be able to watch all the matches in the stadium itself hopefully.

Also Most importantly once again I cant emphasize enough how happy I am by the recent inclusion, though delayed, of DAY 1 to PRE TV Rounds LIVE STREAMING on BWF YouTube Channel for all the BWF World Tour events that I saw at India Open and also in Syed Modi...I request to BWF to please continue this for all the WORLD TOUR events so us fans could watch our players performances from day 1 untill the TV rounds...for this I will forever be grateful to the BWF and that person who actually made it happen and turned it into reality so now we Badminton fans dont have to wander on youtube for Dian Anita's 100000 Accounts or find other ways to watch Pre TV rounds...THANK YOU BWF
