Hafiz was a huge letdown, losing 19-21, 11-21 to top seed Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam. Former All-England champion Hafiz used to beat Tien Minh at will at one time but it looks like the good times are over for the Malaysian. National coach Hendrawan tried to put a positive spin to Hafiz’s defeat, saying the shuttler had more than one enemy to contend with. “He could not control the shuttle. It was fast and the strong draught in the stadium did not help. This led Hafiz playing to the rhythm set by Tien Minh,” Hendrawan said in a telephone interview. Asked what Hafiz should do to get his game back on track, Hendrawan said: “He should maintain his condition and stay away from injuries. That is the most important thing. The focus will now be at training in London. He will leave with others on Wednesday.”
ehh... I thought U sort of like discriminate the word "BOLEH" when I overused it? errr.... I was too bz smashing with young lads so I didnt pray at 2:30am... lolx... so BOLEH... BOLEH... BOLEH.... the last mohicans of BOLEH team... lolx
FINALLY... finally I get the joy from seeing KKK/TBH play again... They can forget about winning the WC for now, but try to improve their front court defense and reduce silly errors.
lolx... The last Mohican's has fallen... haha... so much hype about them winning Taipei Open... lolx... BOLEH... BOLEH... Jae Sung JUNG / Yong Dae LEE beat Kien Keat KOO / Boon Heong TAN: 21-23 21-18 21-17
Hype on winning? WHere got hype? Someone even said bf the start of the tourney that KKK/TBH will not win Taiwan. Unless the person who started the thread hype maybe lah.
unless the remaining top 8 seeds are placed at the opposite of the draw, that also does not guarantee a spot in the finals. It shows how slim the chances are.
lol hehe tak apa we need to get use to the prof.j thread each and every time when prof.j is free before a tournament hehe just like we get used to prof.p thread hehe
Fu/Cai and Jung/Lee are both seeded 5-8. So, the earliest stage Koo/Tan or Kido/Hendra can meet them will be in QF.
You thought it was you? CY/FHF and JJS/LYD can spoil KKK/TBH's dream of another medal if they meet in the QF, let's pray that they are in the other half or at least not the same quarter!
..well, if you wanna count the "invitational" 2008 Super Series Masters Final tourney (in December), then yes, the Boleh #1 MD pair did beat the KOR pair in that most-entertaining straight games victory..
No, I nver thought I even qualify as a Prof. by all means...!! Its sad, to know that MAS fan now have to hope this and that just to wish a medal in WC.........but not to have a real battle to own it........KKK/TBH, looks what you guys have done.....!! LOL
Koo and Tan go down fighting to Korean pair in Taiwan Open semis PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong brought back some element of excitement that had been missing in their game but it was not good enough to take them into the final of the Taiwan Open. In the semi-finals yesterday, they showed great determination, courage and fighting spirit in a 23-21, 18-21, 17-21 defeat by formidable South Koreans Lee Yong-dae-Jung Jae-sung. It was their eighth defeat in two years by the Koreans. But the ability of Kien Keat-Boon Heong to complement each other better and play with great confidence put them on a good platform ahead of the world championships, which will be held in Paris from Aug 23-29. The 24-year-old Kien Keat said that a flurry of unforced errors separated them from the Koreans yesterday. I would say that we were better in our tactical approach against them today. We are equal on the attacking and defensive game. But we were just made more mistakes than them,” he said in a telephone interview from Taipeh. Indeed, the Malaysians went through a few brief spells of poor shots. They led 16-11 in the opening game but several sloppy returns at the front saw the Koreans levelling at 17-17. Fortunately, the Malaysians pulled through. The string of errors were repeated in the second game and in the rubber and it resulted in the Malaysians, who are the top seeds in the world championships, trooping out as the losers. “This Korean pair are the seventh seeds in the world meet. We hope to avoid meeting them earlier. But if we do meet them, we will certainly have to be more consistent in our game” said Kien Keat. He admitted that there was a difference in their game and attitude since crashing out in every other tournament since winning the Malaysian Open in January. “We have a correct mind set now and our confidence is back. Physically, we are in good shape,” said Kien Keat. “But we are looking forward to more training to further brush up on our game ahead of the world championships.” Kien Keat-Boon Heong will return home today and they will leave for the Bath University in England on Wednesday for an isolation centralised training with the other Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) players before they head for Paris. Coach Pang Cheh Chang, who has been working with these players for more than a month, especially on physical fitness, said: “Koo and Tan are certainly on their way back to top. Koo has found his touches at the front while Boon Heong is faster than usual. “In a way, a defeat here is a blessing. It will make them want the world title even more. There is work to be done in the final tune-up for the world championships. We will help them to more consistent.”
