Taufik is a legend. He was the olympic champion. Lets not take away his credits. He is one of the player we should remember in the class like Zhao JianHua, Yang Yang, Rudy, Prakash, Sun Jun, Dong Jiong, Paul Erik Hoyer Larsen, Han Jian, Misbun Sidek, Icuk, Heryanto Arbi, LS King, and a lot more. He is now happily married, successful, and not at his peak. So he lose some matches. He is not young and prime anymore. But we should still respect him as a player of excellence. Now and forever...just like Nicol David , Bruce Lee, Mohammad Ali, Jet Li, Jacky Chan...the legends continues....
As far as Super Series is concerned, TH's attending is not in conflict with Simon's though. Furthermore, if Simon cannot even out-do the current TH, there really is no reason why TH should "step down"... Simon needs to be a little bit better.
Your record is not precise. If we count everything including team events, it should be 5:9. TH beat LD in 2002 AG (team 2:0), 2004 Indonesia MSSF 2:1, 2005 Singapore MSSF 2:0, 2005 WC MSF 2:0, 2006 AG MSF 2:0. TH lost to LD in 2001 ABC 0:2, 2005 Sudirman 0:2, 2006 Thomas Cup 0:2, 2006 Japan MSF 1:2, 2006 AG Team (group and SF. both 1:2), 2007 Malaysia (Round 1 0:2), 2007 French (QF 0:2), 2007 HKO (QF 0:2). Also it's nonsense counting how many points TH won through backhand smash. Backhand smash is part of his game, it keeps pressure on his opponent in situations most other players would have to give up attacking.
taufik always lost after media entertainment make bad news about his children from another women beside his wife, and because india in world championship 2007, taufik look very shock because he was lost, i think taufik must get back his confidence and get leave behind
uhmm.. that "child" issue is an old rumor. and it disappeared by itself.. hope Taufik.. can get his victory back. but he has to not underestimate the opponents
