I can't believe Bao Chun Lai could upset LinDan in only 31 minutes.

I think Lin dan need a failure, after all he has been unbeated for a long long time. It's maybe become his mental pressure. It's disadvantageous for him to win the gold in the Athens. So I think maybe Liyongbo make something, therefore Bao get a chance to win the first title after he become the champion in 2001 denmark open.

i knw its hard to accept the fact tht Lin Dan actually lost.. bt thn, they are frm the same team, playing against each othr is daily affair so i believe they knw each othr's game inside out, upside dwn :D who performs better may emerge as winner.. further, if the so-called Li YB's 1 set game is true, thn Bao's desire to win maybe greater thn Lin (at least in the 1st set) as he knws whts in stake...

Spring Coming, (badminton forum member) Where are you? give us your opinion on this!!!!

Well done BCL! I agree it will be good for lin to lose here, as remaining unbeaten at that age can lead to arrogance and complacency in training and games. At Kims age, he can cope as he has been there, but at a young age, it can make you complacent.

    here i am! :D
i have been very excited since i got the result between lindan and bao, but i didn't want to say too much now because u know it is not the final!!! Although he will just meet Ronald, the person he never lost to, I wonder if bao will play another joke with us! i cannot forget the name of Chien Yu hsiu, Ghaffar, Palyama…
the super Dan was beat in just 30 minute. Someone said this is a ‘fixed’ game. Nonsense! Bullshit!
How could lin dan give a victory to his biggest rival? If lindan lost to xia xuanze now, that may be fixed, because of xia’s poor Olympic qualification point. Bao’s point was ranked fourth now. Do not want li yongbo’s mercy!
Actually it is quite normal for bao to beat lin. Here is list of their head-to-head in the international events:
2000 world junior cham, sf, bao beat lin
2001 Singapore, 2r, bao beat lin
2001 demark, final, bao beat lin and won his first adult title
2003 Singapore, qf, lin beat bao
2003 Hongkong, sf, lin beat bao
2004 Swiss, final, lin beat bao
2004 Japan, sf, bao beat lin
    TATAL: Bao 4:3 Lin
I must admit that this is the first time bao won in the 15-points matches, and lin was in advantage in the latest matches, and lin’s present condition is definitely better than bao, but how cannot bao beat lindan? Is lindan so unbeatable??? Then give him all the gold medals, all the tournaments seems to be useless.
Anyhow bao have advanced to the final. Here I will give him my best wishes. Please!!!
At last I bet all of u didn’t forget Jin Xinpeng, he won the 2000 Japan, the only Open title of him, and in that summer……

I am very happy for you, as I know how big a fan you are.

I dont know if it is a bad thing, or a good thing if he wins here, a you say like Ji Xinpeng (I can here the voices in the back saying who?!). It would be a shame if he went that way, but good that he may win a big tournament. Good luck to him, I like him too, partly cause he is left handed, partly cause he was nice to me when I met him at last years world championship.

someone mentioned that lin is a slow starter....this might be why bao beat him so easily, cuz people often say that Li YB's orders are to lose the second set if you've lost the first when playing against a fellow teammate

since bao knows lin's game quite well, and IF lin really were a slow starter against better players, then perhaps he had to lose the second game?

    i dunno..im just guessing here..

The match between Lin and Bao in HK was really close. No match fixing there.

Ants, you are in Japan at the moment, right?:) Did you you do any DV tape recordings? ;)
