What I worry the most is that I keep all my money liquid right now. However, when US devalue it's dollar, my cash will worth less... Should bought into the gold when it was at $900...

I remember thinking around the Millenium, when everything was "dotcom", that if I had any extra cash, I would buy gold. $900 you say? Check out the price circa 2000: http://www.kitco.com/scripts/hist_charts/yearly_graphs.plx

(also didn't take the friendly advice of a urologist and invest in Pzifer just before Viagra came out. :crying: Once a winner always a winner.)

Blame democrats much? LOL. Ty for bringing that point to my attention. Will take note in the future.

The scary bit now is that banks might take on more gamble because of this current GFC knowing that the US Gov't has been seen bailing them out... so...

Btw, I might be wrong, don't know whether we can include mass production of electric cars as the new green revolution.. (saw an interesting piece bout it last night ironically....)

    mmm

as for americans, it is worth buying something that retain value, like gold to mitigate risk. Canadian benefit less tho because as gold price go up, our CAD goes up as well. I see a low interest rate bubble. The fed can hold back interest rate for so long, this low interest rate period is artifical. All imo.

Who is BO? or what is BO? Lol, sorry so bad with the acronyms.

I can see why devaluing the US dollar would help its debt crisis... but at the risk of going into hyperinflation? LOL <--- (bad joke :()

I was wondering bout that. I had a huge argument with some really hardcore pro-Obama supporters who weren't even American (LOL), they seem to think he's like the Oracle or something.

afaik, no one has really good clear perspectives as to where the general world economy is at the moment.

But I doubt he can plug this crisis we have at the moment.

    Hmm..

    - Would you take and rely on the mighty Chinese Yuan or the mighty U.S. dollar, in the future, as the standard currency for trading?

    - Heard of the 1 world government and 1 world monetary system in the future? And no, the monetary system won't be in the form of currency or credit card.;)
..with the way the current WH administration is running the show and esp. with their $$ printing presses going nonstop, BO would probably stand for Broke OWE-bama.
Inflation or hyperinflation? Do you think they really care?:(
    - You have to ask your so called Obama-mania supporter friends on why they are hardcore Obama-manias? My guess is they are still quite young & the majority of them follow & also put in their votes on shows like Australian Idols or American Idols. Also, since you guys are living in Aussie, where taxes are already probably quite high, i can somewhat understand.
After all, BO is all about taxing people more to death and spending the tax money even more for a bunch of social/govt. programs.

    - Yes, we've mentioned abt where the general world economy is at & is going to, in earlier posts. If you have time, please go back and re-read them..;)

not too long ago (2002) when CAD is in the dump, some politicans and bankers wanted to link our CAD to USD because USD is so strong and healthy. Glad that we (canada) didn't. Recently there are rumor of forming the amero dollar (USD + peso +_CAD). China even demanded some payment in amero dollar just in case that this conversion would take place.

    I am..

..gonna be praying on my hands & knees that Chicago won't be selected and Chicagoans (yes, incl. master silentheart) will be spared from the brunt of paying more tax to cover the cost for the 2016 OG....I know Mayor Daley is licking @ his chops..
*If trying to sell his healthcare plan all over the television networks, Letterman show is not enough, I still can't believe BO has the time to be flying halfway across the world just to make another publicity sale pitch speech @ the IOC when he has so much to handle here in the U.S. And they are flying 2 separate planes taking BO and his wife along with his Chicago gang to Copenhagen??...all using the tax payers monies??...:(
