Human makes mistake, as long as it's not intentional and bias then it's acceptable. Yes, technology is there to minimize the mistake but WBF think it's to costly to implement which is strange. You don't need the one like tennis but at least have few more cameras on side/base lines as stater. Take one small step at a time to eliminate human mistake/bias rather than just claimed not do-able!
Everyone can see the controversy is on the horizon when Olympic comes but not one is taking any action, go figure!

I agree with you that calls are not perfect and the need for new technology to reduce the problems.

As to intentional or not, sometimes if controversial calls affected match's outcome, even one unintended call can become intentional call in the eyes of many. In those cases, there's no clear cut for the answer :cool:

There were too many of those calls, making them appear to be all intentional. But it could be the results of poorly educated ppl serving as linesmen. Many of them looked to me as unfit for such job and they might have never played sports before, especially baddy (please correct me if I'm wrong), so what do you expect from them: bad line calls big time :cool:
 
There was one very obvious line-judging mistake in favour of Gao-Zhao. I guess the linejudge was trying hard to keep awake in a WD match.

it's all about the Beijing Olympics!
LYB and any other parts in Chn try very hard to make sure their players / pairs can qualify into the Olympics. they won't the case of XXZ and XXF will happened again. if u want to blash someone, blash BWF, coz the rule only allow max 3 players / pairs in top 4 to qualify into OG. even the rule is too cruel for Chn, coz previously (OG 04) max 3 in top 8 or top 16 still can qualify. but now, only top 4!

Beijing Olympics is everything for CHN ppl, include LYB, that's why this time they're made so many calls. but only this time (CM & CO 07).
BTW, there is no complaint about the umpires & linejudges during CO 2000 - 2006, and CM 05 & 06.

I agree with xymaerts that Msia line judges did exceptional good job in MO 08 and agree with many of you that Chn should learn from Msia line judges and do "professional and unbiased" jobs in CO and OG.

Msia line judge might have bent the other way around for one or two close calls to favor CY in MSSF game 1. There are always line calls being "too close to call". Unless linesmen bend over to favor other Nations' players every time they see a close call, controversial calls will stay, but we saw very few in MO 08. Indeed, thumb up to Msia line judges :)

at least there are 3 calls favoured to LCW.
don't forget about 2-3 calls against LD during MO 06 finals, that significantly change the outcome.
can this be cathegorized as "fair" umpire & linejudges?:rolleyes:
 
So far MO had a good rating. The only controversial call during MO was the match between PSH vs TH. And it didnt involve any Malaysian player in it.

yes, CHN was unfair during CO 07. but to tell that CHN always unfair to foreign players was totally unacceptable! can u prove that there was a complaint about the others CHN open since 2000?
if u can prove, then yes, I admire that this is my fault.
 
Who mentioned that CHINA Always unfair in tournaments? I'm going to spank that fella. :D
