I don't really like Howard. He won the WC title only because his partner was Tony. If not for that, he'd only be famous in LA (or maybe he's still only famous in LA... If you watch his smashes closely, you might agree with me that he's not any good.
I think the "jump clear" refers to Howard's smashes, since they do tend to go a little flat.

No doubt Tony is the great player and had a lot to do with the success in World Championship, however, we should not disregard the ability of Howard Bach or the contributions he had given just like many former partners of Tony, namely Rudy Gunawan, Halim Haryanto, Chandra Wijaya, ... towards Tony's success. These are all very very good players and doubles need two very good players to win, not one.

So i do appreciate Howard / Tony's success, as a badminton fan in the US.
However, like you guys mentioned before, it seems like whoever partners with Tony, always can make great achievement. Would it prove that Tony is definitely a very talented partner for double games. And obviously Howardn and Tony are a good match as well + Howard's hard working => WC Champion. Sometimes two good players can play very well seperately, but may not work well when putting together. But it doesn't mean that he/ she is not good player. That's why Chinese team always switch their ppl around to find out the best partner for each other in doubles. So, i hope GardenGroveBadm just calm yourself damn down. I completely understand your feeling, and fully share your pain if someone points out bad thing of my favoriate player. And i think Howard would be happy to read all this through cuz he would find out how popular he is , and how much suppor he has from here. If you think 'ask me to shut my mouth up' would make the rest of the world agree with you "Howard is the best", which i don't really think so. Also, i am not saying "howard sucks", which isn't truly what i mean. Basically, he is not my best type of baddy player, but i appreciate his effort and hard working spirit towards the sports. That would be all.
